Chapter 26 - Chapter 26

"There you are!" an otherworldly voice said in Princess Marina's mind and Princess Marina jerked back in shock.

"I was wondering what became of you." The voice said and Princess Marina whipped her head around to locate the voice.

"Who knew she whisked you away to her fantasy of a world." the voice said in a hard tone.

Seeing everyone with their heads bowed and in deep concentration, Princess Marina thought she had finally lost it.

Quietly laughing at herself, Princess Marina thought more self-deprecating thoughts until her gaze momentarily landed on the statue before her. In the brief moment where Princess Marina was not paying attention, the eyes of the statue had become colder and the once cheerful face of the statue that smiled down at her had twisted and taken on a cold and impassive face.

Shocked but not surprised about what was going on, Princess Marina looked around to see if she missed anyone that was secretly watching her. Satisfied that everyone was bowing their heads like the priest demanded, Princess Marina looked at the statue with a scowl.

"What are you doing here?" Princess Marina asked through gritted teeth.

"You ask as if I want to be here." the otherworldly voice said with a chuckle.

"The only reason I am here is because you summoned me with your thoughts in front of this very statue." the voice said and Princess Marina looked at the statue with renewed contempt.

"You came just because of mere thoughts?" Princess Marina asked with a scoff.

"Not even the most talented wolves are able to draw your attention." Princess Marina said with a scowl.

"Don't flatter yourself." The moon Goddess reprimanded Princess Marina.

"The only reason why I can be called so easily is because of this statue." The moon Goddess said in a cold tone.

"I am in every square, every home and every temple." the voice said in a cold tone.

"We are twins after all so it only makes sense that our statues are exactly the same." the voice said with a sinister chuckle.

"The Goddess of this world will soon be here to save you but let me give you a piece of advice before she comes," the voice said in an innocent tone.

"My curse can not be removed just because you crossed worlds." the voice said with a laugh before disappearing abruptly.

After the moon Goddess's presence disappeared, Princess Marina waited for five seconds before panicking.

"That can't be true." Princess Marina thought in panic.

"She can't take anything from me again!" Princess Marina thought as her calm demeanor began to crack.

"She can't!" Princess Marina thought as she squeezed her eyes shut.

"I already lost Gale, my friends, my parents and Kingdom, isn't the curse satisfied?!" Princess Marina thought as tears gathered in her eyes.

"Must more things be taken from me?" Princess Marina asked brokenly.

"Do I have to lose my parents again?" Princess Marina thought as she began to tremble slightly.

"And what about Alvonia?" Princess Marina thought in panic.

"Will it have to burn to the ground because of me?" Princess Marina thought as tears began to drop from her eyes.

Lost in her thoughts, Princess Marina didn't notice the Golden light that poured down from the sky. The Golden light pierced through the transparent dome of the temple and bathed the statue in Golden light and the statue's face that had been distorted became peaceful and serene.

"She lies." The Goddess of Alvonia said with a chime of little bells.

"She has no jurisdiction here and her curse is obsolete." the Goddess of Alvonia chimed but Princess Marina wasn't reassured by her statement.

"It's okay not to trust me." The Alvonian Goddess said with the chime of little bells.

"She was able to approach you on a day where I am at my strongest after all." The Alvonian Goddess said with the chime of little bells that played a sad note at the end.

"But no matter, with this Perihelion I will make it impossible for her to cross over." The Alvonian Goddess said and the intensity of the Golden light over Alvonia increased.

"And as an added favour." The Alvonian Goddess chimed as she placed a golden crescent mark that disappeared into Princess Marina's forehead.

"This will protect you." The Alvonian Goddess chimed.

"Alvonia gives you a chance to start anew." chimed the Goddess.

"In Alvonia with the blessing of fire at your disposal, you have the right to forge whatever path you desire." chimed the Alvonian Goddess.

"You are not burdened by succeeding the throne and you have enough power and resources to be anything you want so please, give this life a try." the Alvonian Goddess chimed softly.

"What's the point?" Princess Marina asked sadly.

"The life I wanted, the life I loved is already gone." Princess Marina said in a broken tone.

"Who's to say that my life will be any different even without the curse from the moon Goddess?" Princess Marina asked sadly.

"There is no way of knowing." The Alvonian Goddess chimed sadly.

"But I hope against all hope that you will be able to live the life you desire." The Alvonian Goddess chimed before disappearing softly.
