A young man slowly opens his eyes to be greeted with a lush morning. He started to rub his head as the events of last night rang in his head of an argument.
"You haven't atoned for anything, you worthless trash." A large man with bulging veins on his arms yelled at the boy while squeezing his fists. The boy lay there with bruises all over his body and his javelin in hand.
"You old bat, you could at least take it a little easy on me." The older man showed visible anger on his face. "Is this only a game to you, Kael? The world is on the verge of collapsing, and you're slacking off."The older man started to walk away.
"No need to remind me of how the world is; it's very clear."Kael turns to look at the desolate land that stretches for miles around the home in deep thought. "If I can convince the Gods to return, then the world will be brought back to the way it was before."The older man stops and turns to look at the young man
"You believe you will be the one to convince the Gods to return when you can barely hold your own against an old man." His expression turns from anger to worry. "The threats out there are no joke ever since the Gods left, the creatures of this world suddenly had a weird power surge. Kael's expression turns serious.
"If I'm able to hone my abilities to the max, I could even become a threat to the gods, then they won't be able to ignore it any longer and return".
Kael walks into the living room, calling for the older man. "Vareth, is it time to start training yet?". He sees a note on the table. "I'll be taking a trip to the city to go restocked on groceries. I'll be back soon."
