Ready for the next day Emily took a taxi to the registry office, wondering if her life would become a nightmare or better.
Arriving at the registry office, she paid the driver and watched the car zoom off. She took a moment to calm myself before walking into the building. The building was surrounded by men in black suits, making it impossible for her to spot him.
She walked into the building all eyes fixed on her like she casted a spell, unable to shake off the feeling that she was in the wrong registry office. She was approached by a young lady who seemed to be her age mate. " Are you Miss Emily? The young lady asked.
Emily nodded.
The lady led her to another hall, where she saw a man with a dangerous aura wearing a mask. "Ten minutes late, I like my woman to be punctual," Alex frowned, glancing at his watch.
Emily stared at the marriage certificate for as long as she could. "Do you want to keep staring at the certificate or get into the car, Mrs Stone? " Alex smirked.
Emily found it weird that he wasn't bothered that he married a total stranger. "Where are we heading now?" She tried to start up a conversation with him.
"To see my parents," He replied, not glancing at her.
"What?" Emily shouted, loud enough to block Alex's ear. " I can't meet your parents now, it is too early. I need some time to prepare, and I don't know anything about you or your family." Emily took a deep breath, trying to calm herself.
Alex's eyes darkened, " I don't have much time, my mother is a little bit nice, while my father is not very welcoming. Try not to involve yourself yet."
She should not involve herself when she just married him. How is that possible? She stared at him in disbelief, then moved her gaze to the window.
The gate swung open automatically, her eyes widened in awe. The building walls were adorned with priceless arts and floors were made of polished dark hardwoods.
She followed Alex inside the building, feeling the sense of comfort forgetting she was about to meet his father. "You have to focus, if you meet my father act like we have known each other for years and we are deeply in love." Alex said, with a meaningful gaze.
Emily nodded, trying to keep up with him but he kept on moving fast.
"Welcome young mister," Edward, the butler said. He was in his late thirties and had been working for the Stone since his childhood.
"Where are they?" Alex asked coldly, not acknowledging Edward's greeting.
Edward frowned, knowing exactly who Alex was referring to.
"In the garden."
Alex didn't glance at him again and quickly dragged Emily toward the garden, his expression changed when he found his father, Mr. Stone and Mr. Nelson.
Mr Stone smiled, welcoming Alex. "Ah, Alex I was about to call you over to have tea."
"This is Mr. Nelson," his father said, introducing the old man. " His daughter is the lovely lady you'll be marrying." Alex's eyes darkened, and he finally said the words, "I'm already married."
The atmosphere changed immediately as his father's face turned blank "What? When? Where?" Mr. Stone stuttered, his voice filled with shock.
Alex's response was calm and collected. "I got married today."
Alex reached behind him and pulled Emily forward, her eyes wide with fear and uncertainty. "This is my wife," Alex announced, his voice firm.
"We've been together for two years, and I love her genuinely. I would appreciate it if you welcome her into our family sincerely."
Emily stood there, speechless, her eyes welling up with tears as she was remembered as his wife, she was someone's wife after her trauma.
Alex finally found the lady he was searching for after many years, he can not let his parents force marriage with that slut that sleeps around just to get a modelling contract.
"But…" Mr. Stone trailed off, lost of words and laughed awkwardly. " You shouldn't have made us go through the stress of finding a wife if you had someone you loved."
"Forgive me but It wasn't necessary till you insisted on getting married before my next birthday," Alex replied.
Mr. Stone looked at the lady beside Alex, waiting to introduce herself.
" Hello Dad, I am Emily Jason," She said with a soft voice. " You look quite young, Alex always talks about how great his father is. I must say that a great seed doesn't grow by itself. I see where my lovely husband got your intelligence from." Emily complimented him while grabbing Alex's arm.
Alex sighed in relief, looking at Emily in admiration but definitely with a cold expression. "Okay father now you've seen my wife. Cancel the marriage proposal I have to go now," Alex said, grabbing Emily and leaving, without waiting for his father's response.
"What's your home address?" Alex asked her, while walking towards the garage.
" 13th Maple Street," Emily said.
"Get your important stuff and come back so you don't have to worry about your clothes and underwear…."
She blushed and ran out. Gazing at the direction she just took, Alex's eyes darkened, quickly calling his personal assistant. "Any information?"
Thirty minutes later, Emily wasn't back.
"You don't have my money ready?" Blackjack smirked, tracing a knife around her lips.
"I will pay today, let me call a friend," Emily said with a teary face.
"Who are you people and why do you have a knife in my woman's face?" Alex asked, trying to process what was going on.
