Chapter 131 - Chapter 131:

Olivia's eyes widened, shimmering with tears, as if two pieces of glass had been set into them.

Mrs. Jamaica Richart was no less emotional. She gripped the cane in her hand tightly, her voice trembling with joy.

"This is wonderful, truly wonderful… Dr. Bailey, you really are the savior of our Richart family."

I was surrounded by Olivia and Mrs. Jamaica Richart, unable to escape for a while.

Captian narrowed his eyes and stared coldly, looking as if he might rush forward and pull me away at any moment.

Just as he was about to stride over, Jason's clear, distant voice rang out.

"Mr. Captian, there is something I would like to discuss with you."

Jason raised his head and looked straight at him. Under the sunlight, his face was handsome and pale, like a clean, beautiful piece of jade.

Captian looked down at him from above. His ink-black eyes were extremely cold, hiding a trace of brutality.

"Follow me."

Jason moved the wheels of his chair.

Seeing that something was wrong, Halley hurried after him. Jason tilted his head and said, "Mr. Captian and I have something private to discuss. Don't follow us."

Halley's steps immediately stopped. He obediently stood still in the living room. There was nothing he could do. He was, after all, a well-behaved younger brother.

Captian looked at Jason's figure, stood in place for a moment, then lifted his foot and followed.

The Richart family garden was very quiet. Only then did Jason stop rolling his wheelchair forward.

Captian stood in front of him, lowering his eyes, still looking down from above.

"What is it?"

Jason lifted his head and met his gaze. Although he had to look up, he did not seem weaker in the slightest. In fact, he seemed to be quietly competing with Captian, neither of them willing to yield.

"Mr. Captian, I don't like owing favors to others."

Jason stared at him. His voice was gentle and pleasant, like water, but it carried a vague, indescribable pressure.

Captian looked at him and suddenly found it rather amusing. Whether intentionally or not, his gaze swept over Jason's legs.

"You can choose not to receive treatment."

Jason frowned, his eyes filled with cold distance.

"Although I don't want to owe anyone a favor, I am very clear-headed. Between a favor and my legs, my legs are more important. Mr. Captian, you would never understand what it feels like to be unable to stand."

Captian showed no expression. A strong gust of wind lifted his coat, bringing with it a wave of coldness.

He did not understand.

Nor did he need to understand.

"Say it. What do you want?"

Jason continued staring at him. At this moment, his clean, gentle face seemed like a sharp blade, as if it could pierce through another person's thoughts.

Captian raised an eyebrow slightly, somewhat surprised by Jason's perceptiveness. He had indeed come here with Rosy for another purpose. Now that he had been exposed, he did not feel embarrassed. He merely gave a faint smile.

Jason frowned at him.

The surroundings instantly sank into silence, creating an oddly strange feeling.

No one knew how long had passed before Captian finally spoke.

"I want that piece of land. The undeveloped land in your hometown."

That undeveloped land was close to the plot his subordinate had obtained from Zhao Tingsen. If they were developed together, the total area would become even larger, turning it into the biggest nature resort in Alchimie City, perhaps even in the entire world.

As the person in charge of Alchimie City, and with his ambition already burning fiercely, if Captian was going to build a nature resort, he had to make it grand. The largest in the world would be best.

But Jason was harder to deal with than Zhao Tingsen, even harder than the Moore couple. Although he appeared gentle, in truth, he was full of calculations. His inability to stand made him even more willing to abandon everything.

Quiet, distant, and seemingly without a single weakness.

On top of that, the Richart family's name was on par with the Anderson family's. It was truly not easy to make a move.

"The land? The nature resort project?"

Jason was not surprised at all, because Captian had already sent people to negotiate with him before, only for Jason to drive them away with all sorts of excuses.

Jason was not afraid of Captian. He simply found him troublesome and thought it best not to get involved.

Captian also had no intention of hiding the nature resort project. He raised an eyebrow, his expression unchanged.

Suddenly, Jason seemed to think of something and laughed. His smile was like a spring breeze in March, capable of clearing away the haze in another person's heart, yet it carried a hidden mockery.

"Mr. Captian, you really are an old fox. You use every person around you who can possibly be used."

Seeing the same person repeatedly within a single month was already highly unusual.

Perhaps this was something Captian had carefully arranged from the beginning. Otherwise, with Captian's personality, would he really let his wife work for wages at a hospital? Would he personally accompany his wife to visit a patient?

No matter how Jason thought about it, it was impossible.

The only explanation was that everything had been arranged by Captian himself.

Rosy was merely a poor, foolish pawn.

After hearing Jason's words, Captian gave a cold laugh but said nothing, as if silently admitting it.

It was true that he had used Rosy once in order to follow her to the villa.

In fact, he was also very surprised. He had not expected the little girl to be so capable, to actually be able to cure Richart Edgar's legs. Last night, as soon as he heard about it, he had wanted to come here to collect a repayment that was not meant for him.

Because he understood Jason. A person like Jason would not owe anyone a favor, especially not him.

"Fine. I agree."

Jason placed both hands on his knees. A light breeze blew past, lifting the sweater on his body and revealing his thin, frail frame. But his eyes narrowed as he said mockingly, "But…"

He suddenly changed direction, as if satisfied to see Captian's darkened expression.

Jason laughed, his voice even more sarcastic, though his eyes glittered like starlight.

"Only when I stand up can that land be given to you. If you're worried, we can sign an agreement."

Captian frowned, his gaze deep and unfathomable.

"Then sign it."

The smile on Jason's face vanished instantly. His eyes returned to their usual stillness, as if the person who had just laughed had not been him at all.

"Follow me."

Captian lifted his foot and followed, his black coat fluttering behind him.
