(Valarr's POV)
"Lady Visenya." I started, "Mayhaps now is not the time for this."
She scowled, walking up to me, "What did you say?" she asked, a serious tone in her voice, "You dare defy me?"
"That is not what I mean." I said, "I don't think I can use that trick in front of others."
She lifted her finger and pointed at my chest, giving me a serious glare, "You do as I say, Valarr." She said, "Otherwise, I will have you pelted."
"That's just cruel, My Lady." I said with a nervous chuckle
"You think this is a jest?" She reached for my collar, "I will put you to the ground myself, Valarr. It is your fault for showing me that trick. Now, you will do it for me again."
I sighed, "My Lady....
"Shut up." She said, "You will do as I say."
She pushed me away with her hand and walked over to the weapons rack, grabbing a bow and arrow. She nocked the arrow and aimed it at me, drawing the bowstring as she had a serious look on her face.
"My Lady." the guard said, "Is it wise to do that?"
"Hmph, he would be fine." Visenya said, "Wouldn't you, Valarr?"
I sighed and assumed a stance, "My Lady, this is not wise." I muttered, "But whatever you say...."
"Hm." She smiled slightly
I let out an exhale, gripping the handle of my sword.
"Simple Domain"
I felt as an invisible barrier was erected around me, making it into my domain. As I did that, Visenya fired the arrow, shooting it right at me.
"Lady Visenya!" The Guard exclaimed
The arrow flew right at my face but was immediately parried, shattering into pieces as I sheathed my blade slowly. The splinters were falling down onto the ground around me as I let out another exhale, looking right at Visenya who was smiling.
"That's what I thought." She said with a smirk, "You stupid boy."
I straightened up, "That was reckless, Lady Visenya." I said with a frown, "What if I didn't activate it, I would have an arrow in my eye!"
"Hmph, that's what you would get for not using it." She said as she placed her hand on her hip
This bossy girl in front of me was the eldest daughter of Lord Aerion Targaryen, The Dragon Lord of Dragonstone. Yea, a mouthful, huh? I met her a few years ago when Lord Aerion and his children went down to the village and spoke to Taka, our people's leader. She was immediately intrigued by me, for whatever reason.
We became friends, and I revealed to her a piece of my secret: my Simple Domain. The ability to erect a barrier around me and use it in conjunction with my sword technique. I can use it to defend myself against any attack.
How is this possible for someone in this world? Well, the truth is I am not of this world. I was reincarnated a few years ago within the body of a Valyrian boy who was found shortly before the migration to Westeros by the Valyrians who hailed from YiTi. My "Mother" was the one who took me in and adopted me. I have heard from many that she had lost her own son and in her grief, she decided to adopt me.
I vaguely remember my own life, but I do remember seeing a Goddess-like figure before I woke up in this body. She mentioned gifting me the ability to use "Cursed Energy" and allowed me to have a Simple Domain. I do know plenty of the information, as if that data was ingrained into me.
With the usage of Simple Domain, I can wield New Shadow Style in the form of sword drawing attacks. So far, I can erect a barrier of 2.5 meters and anything that comes within that range can be instantly targeted with a sword slash. The amount of instant sword slashes is currently limited and I can be overwhelmed should I get into a battle.
But if someone were to step within my range by their lonesome, they are guaranteed to take a sword slash to the neck.
That is why Visenya is so interested in me; she wishes for me to teach her such a power. But the thing is, I cannot do that. I don't know how I was bestowed with Cursed Energy and I don't really know the fundamentals of Simple Domain and New Shadow Style.
I feel like I was just "Given" the ability to do it without any issue.
Sure, I can train it and improve with it, but I just don't know how to explain the mechanics of it.
I never really put any thought into it, I was just living my life here in Dragonstone. I really don't know what to think of anything at the moment. As far as I am concerned, I am a Valyrian peasant who is lives in the fishing village at the coast of Dragonstone. I rarely see Lord Aerion Targaryen or his other children. I don't even come to the castle that often.
But when I do come, it's to see this girl.
Visenya Targaryen.
She's a stubborn one to say the least.
"Hey." She snapped her fingers in front of me, "Quit staring into nothing, you buffoon."
I looked at her, "My Lady, Is that all you wanted from me?" I asked, "I have to go back home. I hear that it is a good season to catch more-"
"You do as I command." She said with a scowl, "And I command you to stay here with me. You will teach me that trick."
"I told you." I said, "I cannot teach it."
"You will do so." She said with a serious expression, "That is a command."
I frowned, "I cannot teach what I don't know." I said, "I am sorry."
"You don't know how to use it?" She asked, "You just used it in front of me!"
"I mean, I can use it." I said, "But I don't know how to teach it. It's much more complicated than just telling you to sheath your blade and quickly drawing it."
"Lies." She said as she poked my chest with her finger, "You are being difficult, Valarr. If you don't teach me....."
"I will have my dragon eat you."
