Ignis's golden eyes widened slightly at Adam's words, the blush on her cheeks growing even deeper. For a moment she just stared at him, as if she couldn't quite believe what she had just heard.
Then her lips trembled into a bright, teary smile, the kind of smile that lit up her entire face like a small sun returning to life. The faint flame on her horns flickered stronger, warmer.
"Really…?" she whispered, voice soft and full of fragile hope. "You really mean that? You won't make me chase you anymore?"
Adam nodded, still cupping her cheek.
Ignis let out a shaky, happy breath. Her eyes shimmered again, but this time not from sadness. Relief and joy mixed together as she suddenly threw her arms around his neck again, hugging him tightly.
"You idiot…" she mumbled against his shoulder, half-laughing, half-crying. "Then stop being so dense next time… I've been waiting so long for you to say something like that."
