"The red mist has been stable as of late," Alpha Eon added, his voice leveled. "It must be signs of good things to come."

"The goddess has been merciful," Luna Noelle agreed, her hands folded primly in her lap. "Our borders have seen no incursions in weeks. The hunts have been fruitful." Her lips quivered in satisfaction

I nodded along with the others, keeping my expression neutral as the council droned on. Around the long table sat the leaders of the allied packs—Alphas, Lunas, and their Betas. This was how we maintained cohesion, how we ensured that no pack suffered in silence while others thrived.

Monthly meetings to share intelligence, discuss territory disputes, coordinate hunts, and present a united front against threats both internal and external.

Usually, these gatherings were tedious. Predictable. A necessary evil of leadership.

But today was different.

Today, I had an agenda.
