As in vanished from her own damn narrative. Or—or—was she simply lazing around the palace, sipping tea, letting an impostor do the heavy lifting while Chubby and I were out here risking feathers and dignity? Honestly, I wouldn't even be surprised at this point.
What the hell was going on? This—this—never happened in the book. And yes, fine, I'll admit it: this arc? Objectively better. More tension. Higher stakes. Delicious chaos. Ten out of ten, would emotionally suffer again.
But the problem was—I had no idea what was about to happen next.
And I hated that. Was she—
Kidnapped?
Dead? (Please no. I do not have the emotional budget for that.)
Hidden away like a cursed relic?
Running from something—or someone?
Imprisoned in some underground dungeon with dramatic lighting and terrible food?
Who knew? Certainly not me, the person who was supposed to have read this entire story already.
