Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Superimposed Abilities, Your Encounter

"Captain, we've spotted Mew!" a Team Rocket member exclaimed excitedly, noting a red dot on his radar detector pointing towards the bushes ahead.

"Come out, Fearow!" The squad leader promptly sent out his Pokémon, while his six members released Spearows, all ready to capture Mew with an electric grid. Clearly, they were "well-prepared."

Unfortunately, this team was just a pawn for Team Rocket, meant to test Professor Oak's response.

(Can this lineup really handle Mew?)

"I guess they think Mew is easy to bully because it's quite mischievous," Red mused. Despite Mew's great strength as a mythical Pokémon, its playful and kind nature made it vulnerable to attacks from evil organizations.

"That's... a Bulbasaur?" a member questioned in confusion, repeatedly checking the detector and realizing the red dot was on a Bulbasaur pretending to forage ahead.

"Fearow, use Tri Attack!" the squad leader ordered, then scolded his team, "You idiots, don't you know Mew can disguise itself as other Pokémon?!"

(How would I even know this...)

The members couldn't help but feel disheartened, wondering how they were supposed to know about mythical Pokémon like Mew.

Fearow launched three energy orbs, forming a triangle that targeted Mew. The Tri Attack had a 20% chance to inflict burn, freeze, or paralysis. The squad leader planned to weaken Mew before attempting capture.

Realizing its disguise had been exposed, Mew transformed into Pidgeot and used Air Slash to counter Fearow's attack.

"As expected of the Mythical Pokémon, not to be underestimated!" The squad leader signaled to his team, who pretended to command Spearow to attack while secretly maneuvering the electric net.

Mew wasn't easily caught by such tactics, but the battle noise attracted other Pokémon. A well-developed Beedrill appeared, firing Pin Missiles to fend off a Spearow.

This Beedrill, standing at 1.3 meters, was better developed than most, with unusual red rings on its tail and an extremely sharp stinger dripping with venom.

Beedrill's intervention infuriated the squad leader, prompting Fearow to focus on Beedrill. Yet, the battle-hardened Beedrill wasn't easily defeated.

Beedrill used Pin Missile to wear down Fearow, then closed in with a cross-shaped scissor attack, hitting its vital points.

Fearow cried out in pain. The squad leader's face darkened, ordering his men to use an electric net for a sneak attack while Beedrill was engaged.

The electric net tormented Beedrill, allowing Fearow to launch a series of attacks. Severely injured, Beedrill began to glow with a green aura—its Swarm ability activating.

(Swarm: When HP is below 1/3, the power of Bug-type moves increases by 1.5 times.)

"Hmph! It's just a common ability. If you were a Sniper, I might have trained you properly!" the squad leader sneered.

"Is it honorable to torment a Beedrill?"

A voice interrupted. The squad leader turned to see his subordinates defeated, their Spearows floating mid-air, asleep, clearly under Red's psychic control.

"Who are you? How dare you interfere with Team Rocket's plans!" the squad leader tried to intimidate, but Red, unafraid of Team Rocket's reputation, launched a wave attack that took down the Spearow.

Ignoring the squad leader's hysteria, Red extended his hand to Beedrill, inviting it to join him. Red admired this brave and powerful Beedrill. While other Pokémon fled, Beedrill risked its life to help Mew.

After a moment's consideration, Beedrill accepted, placing its stinger on Red's palm, eager to become stronger and "family."

[Ding! Congratulations, host, on capturing your first Pokémon! Ability Stacking System activated! Pokémon identified: Beedrill. Stack the Sniper ability?]

The voice in Red's mind made his eyes light up; he never expected to have a system.

[Overlay Sniper ability!]

Beedrill began to change; its weapons—twin needles—became sharper, and its previously red eyes turned piercing, a hallmark of a Sniper.

Red sensed that Beedrill was still benefiting from its Swarm ability, meaning it was now empowered by two abilities.

"I wasn't planning on letting you leave." Red, realizing the squad leader wanted to escape, used his psychic power to bind him, rendering him immobile.

"If you're so capable, then fight me!" the squad leader challenged, but Red, unbothered, focused on strengthening his bond with Beedrill.

"Beedrill, recover your strength first." Red provided two Oran Berries, preparing for a battle to enhance their teamwork.

"Go, Rhydon!" The freed squad leader released Rhydon to battle.

The squad leader cautiously observed Beedrill. Although he couldn't pinpoint Red's actions, his instincts warned him not to underestimate them.

"Focus Energy," Red commanded.

Beedrill took a deep breath, analyzing Rhydon's vital points.

"Rhydon, Horn Attack!" the squad leader ordered.

"Evade," Red instructed.

Beedrill swiftly dodged, then struck Rhydon with its cross-shaped scissors, powered by Swarm and Sniper abilities, knocking Rhydon down.

"How is this possible? A mere Beedrill... I can't..." the squad leader stammered, but Red silenced him, taking control.

"Mew~"

After the battle, Mew curiously circled Red, sensing his benevolent aura. It happily nuzzled Red's cheek, feeling a strong affinity for him.

"We'll talk later, Mew," Red reassured, turning to the squad leader. "Right now, we need to get these Team Rocket members into the League's custody!"

Raising his hand, Red launched an aura sphere, signaling Professor Oak.

"Could Red be in danger?" Professor Oak, noticing the signal, promptly contacted the League police for assistance.

Half an hour later...

The team, a mere pawn for Team Rocket, was taken away by Officer Jenny and her team.

Red's unexpected encounter with Mew and his first Pokémon, Beedrill, turned a mundane summer camp into an unforgettable adventure.
