Chapter 139 - Chapter 140: Something is Wrong with Godric's Style

As the O.W.L.s drew closer, Audrey was nearly driven to a breaking point.

She was being harassed.

And it was by a thousand-year-old ghost.

Inside the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom.

"Don't think the Disarming Charm I'm teaching you now is nothing special,"

Audrey said.

"Even if it's a spell you can learn in your second year, you can use it for a lifetime!"

Audrey's eyes unconsciously flicked toward Harry Potter. This was the powerhouse who had used the Disarming Charm to go head-to-head with Avada Kedavra.

Hermione was sitting in the front row as usual, while Harry and Ron were forced to sit beside her.

To be precise, almost all the seats in the first few rows were full, which was the exact opposite of the scenes when Gilderoy Lockhart had been teaching.

"Come on, everyone, recite it with me—Expelliarmus!"

A tidy chorus of "Expelliarmus" echoed from below.

Audrey suddenly froze.

She stared blankly at the door.

The young wizards followed their professor's gaze in confusion. The door to the classroom was tightly shut; there was nothing there.

But Audrey clearly saw a little figure flashing with red light and another with yellow light dancing there.

While dancing, they pointed upward, muttering something under their breaths.

A line of text appeared on the door:

[Go to the Ravenclaw Tower, it's just that little bit more!]

Audrey was utterly speechless.

She turned her head, ignoring the clumsy light-and-shadow performance.

But as her gaze moved, the text only she could see followed like a shadow, remaining squarely in the center of her field of vision.

[Quickly go, good girl!]

[Obtain the complete inheritance!]

[Change this damn 'happy education'!]

[Dismiss Dumbledore!!]

[Don't dawdle, Audrey!]

[Take the final step, and Hogwarts will be yours!]

Ah! So annoying!!

Crack!

Gripping the edge of the podium, a vein throbbed on Audrey's forehead as she clenched her fist, unexpectedly crushing the wood into pieces.

Ron whispered to Harry, "Harry, what's wrong with Audrey? She's been a bit off since just now!"

Harry: "I don't know. She seems really angry. Did we pronounce it wrong?"

Hermione: "Shh—we're still in class!"

Ron: "But her grip strength is insane. That podium is solid wood! She crushed it with one squeeze. That's terrifying!"

On the platform, Audrey took a deep breath and regained her smile.

"Come, let's start the practical combat now,"

Audrey drew her wand and, as usual, moved the desks to the sides.

"I'll demonstrate first!"

Audrey waved her wand fiercely.

"Expelliarmus! Expelliarmus! Expelliarmus!"

Red light shot from her wand, hitting the walls, the door, and every place where the strange text appeared.

The text dispersed only to regroup elsewhere. Audrey cast Disarming Charms at will, as if she were playing a game of Whac-A-Mole.

[Don't be angry, good girl. Until you obtain the Ravenclaw inheritance, I will keep reminding you!]

A green light hit the stone wall, scorching a black patch.

Harry shuddered. That green light triggered bad memories for him. He looked at Hermione:

"Audrey seems really, really angry!"

Hermione was also confused. "Why was the color of her last spell different? Was it a casting error because of non-verbal magic?"

The text harassing Audrey disappeared. Feeling relieved, she beckoned Harry over.

"Alright, Harry, Ron, you two come to the center and try using this magic!"

Harry Potter truly was a man born with a specialization in the Disarming Charm. The first time he learned it, he used it with such proficiency that it seemed as if he had twenty years of mastery.

...

...

In the days that followed, the childish Godric Gryffindor used every method he could think of to harass Audrey.

In class, in the dormitory, in Hagrid's hut, in the Slytherin Chamber of Secrets...

Everywhere, nowhere to hide.

This founder of Hogwarts, famous for being bold and hearty, actually showed a side of pestering that women hated most.

Audrey could no longer look at the phrase 'By Godric' in the same way!

"Ancestor! Aren't you going to do something? Your descendant is being annoyed to death by Gryffindor!"

Audrey stood before the statue in the Slytherin Chamber of Secrets. The ancestor's statue was sitting with its legs crossed, wearing a look of amusement.

A line of glowing text appeared by her side:

[Salazar is dormant; he cannot help you.]

Below this line of text, several small light spheres suddenly emerged, floating upward and blooming like fireworks at a height of two meters.

Good grief, he even had to set off fireworks to celebrate?

This style...

Godric's favorite Gryffindor students couldn't be George and Fred, could they?

...

...

Since the ancestor couldn't be relied upon, she would go to the Headmaster!

You were the one who talked me into coming here, so if I'm being harassed, you have to do something, right?

Inside the Headmaster's office.

"You are being harassed by Godric Gryffindor?"

Audrey nodded repeatedly. "He's driving me crazy!"

Dumbledore adjusted his half-moon glasses. "Why is he harassing you?"

Audrey sighed and quietly used a shared vision spell. This was a branch of soul magic that could briefly allow the other party to see exactly what she saw.

[This Dumbledore makes me angry just looking at him. He doesn't look like a Gryffindor at all!]

[Good girl, quickly go and get the Ravenclaw inheritance!]

[You just have to walk over there, and 'shoo,' it'll be over. It's not troublesome at all!]

[I can't wait to kick this fellow out of the Headmaster's seat!]

[If he keeps this up, the British wizarding world will be completely finished!]

[He stays high and mighty, enjoying the fame of the Greatest White Wizard, but besides him, which wizard in Britain is worth mentioning now?]

[Of course, good girl, I didn't mean you! Besides, you weren't taught by him anyway!]

[Even letting that Grindelwald be the Headmaster would be better than Dumbledore!]

Dumbledore was dumbfounded.

He never expected that Gryffindor, one of the four founders, would have such strong opinions about him!

"Audrey, have you already obtained the Gryffindor inheritance?"

Audrey nodded. There was nothing to hide. She followed up by saying:

"It seems the compensation for my part-time teaching needs to be adjusted, Mr. Headmaster."

Dumbledore nodded and smiled.

"I can use an absolutely useful suggestion to replace the previous conditions."

The smile on the old man's face revealed his shrewdness. Even without Legilimency, Audrey knew this old fox had another scheme.

"Trust me, it's definitely worth it!"

Audrey tilted her head. "A suggestion related to Gryffindor's harassment?"

"Yes, yes!"

"Alright," Audrey nodded. "Go ahead!"

Dumbledore said with a chuckle, "Actually, the matter is quite clear. You only need to accept the Ravenclaw inheritance and then dismiss me. Then you can get rid of Godric's pestering."

Audrey froze and almost shouted, "I don't want to be the Headmaster! It's poor and exhausting!"

But Dumbledore still smiled. "Who said that after I'm dismissed, it must be you who becomes Headmaster? Can't McGall do it? Or Snape? Even Gael Depp is capable of handling the position."

Audrey's eyes lit up. "That's right!"

All her worries had stemmed from the position of Headmaster. Perhaps being too lazy to go to the Ravenclaw Tower played a part as well.

But knowing she didn't have to be the Headmaster made her feel enlightened.

However, she wasn't happy for long, because she thought a bit further—if the new Headmaster didn't satisfy Godric Gryffindor, perhaps he would still keep harassing her.

This was very troublesome!

Because she had tested it; Godric Gryffindor's harassment relied on Hogwarts' magic, but it was connected to the Gryffindor inheritance inside her body!

In other words, Gryffindor could harass her regardless of distance!

She had never seen such an annoying fellow; no wonder the ancestor didn't like him!

Wait!

Previously, her whole heart and soul were focused on refusing the Ravenclaw inheritance, so she had never thought about what would happen after receiving it.

If she obtained authority over the entire castle, would that mean sealing a thousand-year-old consciousness wasn't impossible?

She could even ban Gryffindor's account immediately after obtaining the Ravenclaw inheritance!

"Professor Dumbledore, aren't you the least bit attached to the position of Headmaster?"

Although Audrey had figured it out, she was still curious about this question.

Dumbledore leaned back in his chair, playing with the Deluminator in his hand. "I am old; I should have stepped down long ago. Moreover..."

The castle suddenly began to shake, so much so that even Gryffindor's 'glowing text' wavered unsteadily.

"What's happening!"

Audrey stood up, scanning the three-quarters of the castle she controlled.

However, she found nothing.

[The secret vault sealing Morgana's power has been opened again!]

[It's that woman!]
