Melody held the Heart of Kami gently—its golden glow soft and warm now that it was separated from the machine. The chamber fell silent, save for the occasional drip of water from broken pipes.
Trunks: *He exhaled, tension draining from his shoulders.* Alright… one down. Two more to go.
Goten: *He eyed the collapsed entrance—they'd have to find another way out now that they blew up half a tunnel fighting a god-like-robot.* How about I just Zanzabee ourselves out of here? *Goten asked out of the blue, as he looked at the debris instead of Trunks.*
Trunks: *Trunks snorted.* Zanzabee? You mean teleport?
Goten: Uhm... No... I mean Zanzabee, the energy move Mel used on us at the tournament. It's rather easy to maneuver. *Goten said bluntly like saying it out loud is no biggie.* But then again, we could potentially bury ourselves underneath the rubble. So perhaps we should simply consider using a teleport technique or maybe even instant transmission.
Trunks raised an eyebrow—since when did Goten know advanced energy maneuvers? The Obsidian form must've upgraded his skills much more than he anticipated, Trunks thought to himself.
Trunks: Yeah… Instant Transmission is safer. Let's not risk getting crushed.
Melody: *Melody nodded, cradling the Heart protectively as she focused on a mental image of the surface exit above them.* Maybe it's best if I do it Goten, no offense, but we don't want to end up somewhere in space. *Melody said with a soft giggle.*
Goten: *He pouted but didn't argue—he had zero experience with Instant Transmission.* Fair. I'd probably end us up in Hell by accident.
Melody smiled, then reached out, placing a hand on each of their shoulders. The air around them shimmered faintly as she prepared to warp all three of them safely topside. In an instant they were being blinded by sharp and bright beams of light. The sun is greedily scratching at their eyes. They stumbled a little, squinting against the sudden sunlight—blinking rapidly to adjust. The trio had reappeared in a quiet field just outside West City's quarantine zone. The air was fresh, birds chirping—the world above felt normal, unlike the eerie underground chamber they'd just escaped.
Melody: *She exhaled, shielding her eyes as she held the Heart securely in both hands.* Maybe we should return this item to Kami's tower, before setting course for Mount Paozu. *Melody suggested.*
Trunks: *He nodded, still adjusting to the daylight.* Yeah. Dende will want it ASAP—can't risk anything happening to it.
Goten stretched, rolling his shoulders. The fight had been intense… but they'd won. Now came the real mission: getting the remaining two pieces. After dropping Kami's hearts off at the lookout, carefully in Dende's hands, the trio set course for their next destination.
