If the first session with her father was successful then the second session was even more successful. Nyx was able to partially shift for about two minutes. By the third session, she was kind of sure that she can do it.
But that's when Arthur changed tactics.
"Today we will go deeper." He announced at the beginning of their fourth training session. "We need to break through your remaining barriers."
"What remaining barriers?" Nyx asked. "I can partially shift for two minutes now. That's massive progress."
"It's good for surface-level integration but you're still keeping your wolf at arm's length. You talk to your wolf, cooperate with it but you don't let it completely in. You're still terrified of what will happen if you lose control."
"Of course I am. I've seen what happens when shifters lose control. They kill people."
