Raziel led her to the bed. They sat as he pulled her down beside him.
"The ceremony has three parts, as I mentioned earlier. First, the blood exchange, we'll cut our palms slightly and press them together while speaking the first vow."
"Which is?"
"'I offer my blood, my strength, my life. What is mine becomes yours, what is yours becomes mine. It's acknowledging that we're choosing to share everything."
"Okay. Then?"
"Then the witnesses acknowledge the bond with their vows. They promise to honor the bonded pair as a single unit, to protect both equally, and to recognize the bond as sacred and permanent. They've to give their blessing from their hearts."
"And then the private part?"
"Then everyone will leave except for us. We will speak the second vow, which is usually about choosing each other, promising fidelity, committing to the bond permanently. There are few traditional vows, but most couples write their own." He squeezed her hand. "What would you want to say?"
