"Umbra is funding The Culled." Nyx said as she collapsed on the chair. "We need to talk to him directly."
"That's dangerous…"
"Everything is dangerous now." Nyx stood up. "We need to understand the bigger picture, and Umbra is the only one who can explain it."
Through the bond, she felt Raziel's reluctance as well as his acceptance that she was right.
"Then we'll go together." He said. "We'll confront him as a bonded pair."
"Agreed."
"But first, we need to deal with Captain Thorne." Raziel continued. "We need to show visible justice, like Mat said. We'll start the investigation tomorrow publicly."
"What about the safe houses Vera and Skylar identified?"
"We'll raid them at dawn before The Culled can relocate." Raziel sat down beside her. "Kira is coordinating with the hybrid security force candidates. We'll have hybrid and pure blood working together." He took her hand. "How are you holding up?"
