Chapter 1 - Chapter One: The Day Heaven Fell

✨ HEAVENLY ASCENT: RISE OF THE SSS-RANK SYSTEM ✨

Chapter One: The Day Heaven Fell

The world ended on a Tuesday.

Clouds split open like torn fabric, bleeding streaks of gold and violet across the sky. People stopped in the streets of Neo-Lagos, staring upward with phones raised, thinking it was some viral spectacle.

It wasn't.

Sixteen-year-old Aiden Kuro was skipping his last class—again—when the heavens screamed.

A gong echoed across Earth. Not metal. Not thunder. Something older.

Something divine.

> [HEAVENLY SYSTEM BOOTING…]

[SELECTING COMPATIBLE HOST…]

[HOST FOUND: AIDEN KURO, AGE 16]

[ASSIGNING: SSS-RANK — "DIVINE ASCENT SYSTEM"]

Aiden froze mid-step.

"Huh…? I didn't sign up for any app."

Then the screaming began.

One by one, people collapsed. Some twitched. Some convulsed. Some stood back up with eyes clouded milky white and jaws unhinged too far.

The First Wave of Zombies.

Cars crashed. Streets flooded with chaos. Aiden's breath fogged from sudden cold as a glowing sigil burned itself onto his chest—three rotating rings of light.

> [FIRST QUEST ISSUED]

Survive the next 10 minutes.

Reward: Status Window + Starter Skill

A zombie lunged at him—the security guard from his school gate—now missing half a face.

Aiden stumbled back, heart pounding.

"System! Give me something! A weapon, a shield—anything!"

> [BEGINNER SKILL GRANTED]

• Heavenly Strike (Lvl. 1) — A fragment of celestial power allowing the host to channel divine force through bare hands.

Light surged into his fist, turning it gold and crackling like animated lightning.

Aiden swung.

BOOM!

The zombie exploded backward, smashing into the school wall and sliding down limp.

Aiden stared at his glowing hand.

"…This is so overpowered. I love it."

But the street around him had become a rising nightmare. Dozens of turned humans staggered toward him, drawn to the light.

The System chimed again.

> [WARNING: HUMAN HOSTILES APPROACHING]

Some survivors have awakened lesser systems. Greed detected.

Prepare for conflict.

A group of armed teenagers—former school seniors—blocked the road. Their leader, Dara the Bully King, smirked with a jagged machete.

"So the heavens gave you power, Aiden?"

His eyes narrowed.

"Hand it over."

Aiden lifted his golden-lit fist.

"…Come and take it."

> [HOST ENTERS FIRST HUMAN BATTLE SCENARIO]

Difficulty: High

System Tip: Mercy is optional. Survival is mandatory.

As zombies closed from the back, and humans closed from the front, Aiden realized one thing:

He wasn't in a city anymore.

He was in a battleground.

And Heaven had chosen him for war.
