Chapter 32 - Night of Fate {Fate Route} (5)

The Princess of Colchis, Medea.

She had one concern. On the dawn of the day before the Holy Grail War officially began. Medea was in her room, making charms and Mystic Codes for the Holy Grail War, pondering.

The few short days she had spent at the Einzbern Castle were enjoyable for her. It was a daily life that reminded her of her time with the Argonauts, or of Colchis with Circe and her family.

Illya, who reminded her of Circe, with whom she had a surprisingly good connection despite a feeling of distance; Sella, who was strict but the most normal person and with whom she could converse well; Leysritt, who seemed to have a few screws loose but approached her without suspicion; and Okita, who was a bit stiff but got along with her well enough and would try on the clothes she made.

And especially, Fergus. He was on her mind a lot.

His immense power, hidden beneath his cute appearance. Medea was reminded of Heracles, whom she had seen in the past, and Idas, who had fought with Apollo. Unlike them, who were typical muscular Greek men, Fergus had the appearance of a cute, petite, and beautiful boy. He was exactly her type.

On top of that, his sincere demeanor, with not a shred of suspicion towards her. He was so different from Jason. Even compared to the screw-loose heroes of the Argonauts, he was an incredibly sensible person. And especially, she still hadn't forgotten the night he had saved her as she was dying miserably. The warmth of a person, which she hadn't felt in a long time…

She realized that the feelings she had were love. Not an artificial feeling created by a goddess's curse, like with Jason, but a feeling that came from the heart.

But he had her by his side.

Medb.

His disciple, whom Fergus had kidnapped and raised in mythology, and also his second wife. In fact, after leaving the Land of Shadows, the prevailing interpretation was that she was his legal wife. With such a wife by his side, how could she reveal such feelings?

And yet, that very Medb had made many conversations with Medea, trying to get along with her. The atmosphere was like talking with a woman of the same age. Despite having died as an old woman, Medb had adapted to the modern era better than anyone, as if she were a modern high school girl.

"Shopping like this always makes me feel good."

Sometimes, Medea would be dragged along by her to go shopping at department stores and other places. It served as a reference for her clothing designs, and spending time with her wasn't so bad.

In the first place, Medb got along with everyone. Her friendliness was maxed out; there was no one she wasn't friendly with. She also got along well with Illya, and it was no exaggeration to say that their relationship was like that of a mother and daughter. Medb, who had had children of her own, was also a mother of a family, and she also got along with Illya like a friend.

She was the very definition of a high-spec woman. With such a Medb around, to approach Fergus would be shameless beyond measure.

And yet… no matter how hard Medea tried to steel her heart, she couldn't.

Why?

"Medea, look at the book I bought this time. It's a romance novel that you like. It's a bestseller this time."

Fergus was just too cute. In his usual state, he was like a pure, beautiful boy.

Just looking at him made her heart ache. How could a woman not fall for him? Even just walking down the street, many people would stare at him. A beautiful boy with slitted eyes who captivated not only women but also men. It was no wonder he was passed down in legend as the most handsome man in the Celtic world.

A beautiful boy, a rare sight in Greece, where muscular macho men were considered handsome. There were a few effeminate beautiful boys, but they were often treated like female servants. Like Zeus's Ganymede. But Fergus, who was both manly and strong, and had the charisma of a king of a nation, was a perfect beautiful boy that did not exist in Greece.

Even Medea, who had acknowledged Jason's face, was so unconsciously captivated that Jason was remembered as a squid. He was a walking charm bomb. Medea even considered the hypothesis that the love spot of the later Diarmuid had originated from Fergus.

"Oh my… look at me."

Medea, who had been making Mystic Codes, had unconsciously been making a figure of Fergus. Her hobby in her previous life had been making sculptures (figures), and she had made a figure of Fergus without even realizing it. In her previous life, she had made a figure of Jason, and now, with a quality incomparable to that time, she was making a detailed figure of Fergus.

"I shouldn't be doing this… to be in love with another woman's man. I must be crazy…"

Although she was from Greece, where NTR was a daily occurrence, Medea was ashamed of being from Greece and disliked such things. And since her aunt, Circe, had a history of trying to NTR the devoted Odysseus and ultimately being rejected, she was even more afraid.

Even if she confessed, she didn't know if she could bear it if she were rejected. It would be a relief if she didn't commit suicide. Medea's current wish was a simple one: for days like these to continue.

Knock, knock.

"? Who is it?"

At the sudden knock, she got up without much thought and approached the door, and the door was thrown open. Standing in front of the door was Fergus, and behind him, she could see Medb running away.

"? What's going on all of a sudden…"

"Well… for now, can we talk inside? Haha…"

"Inside is—"

At that, Medea froze. What was inside? Why… there was a figure of Fergus.

"Is that, me?"

"....."

It's over. Medea, who had thought she would surely be scorned and had had all sorts of thoughts, immediately gave up and thought, let's just die, and became enlightened. Instead of blood, saliva trickled from her mouth.

"You're good at making these."

"…?"

However, Fergus already knew about Medea's hobby, so he didn't think much of it. Medea had thought she would be scorned for her hobby, which was like an otaku or a pervert who made figures of real people, but she was surprised to receive a good evaluation.

"Ahem, for now, shall we sit down and talk?"

"Ah, yes…"

Medea sat down in a daze. The two of them stared at each other for a few seconds without a word… then Fergus spoke first.

"Hey… Medea. I'm not good at beating around the bush, so I'll ask you directly…"

"Yes."

"Do you like me?"

"...."

In fact, it would have been strange if he didn't know. The bombshell that Medb had dropped from the beginning. And everyone in the castle knew that Medea was always concerned about Fergus whenever they were together. Medea, who seemed to be aware that she had been showing it a lot, blushed and slowly nodded.

"Yes… that's right."

"I see… I had a feeling. It's like seeing Deirdre…"

Deirdre. The fifth wife who was originally supposed to become Fergus's wife when she grew up, but she didn't like the idea of an old man she didn't even know and eloped, only to regret it when she actually met Fergus. Fergus, who said that she was like Deirdre, who was famous for the incident where she had gone through various hardships to become his wife and then confessed publicly in front of the retainers of Ulaid.

At that, Medea wondered if she had been that obvious.

"Was I that obvious?"

"Yes, very. In the first place, you know I have several wives, right? So… of course, it's not like I have a lot of concubines or court ladies like an emperor, or 1000 women like Solomon."

Fergus, who only had wives and no concubines. Six in total, which could be said to be modest for a king who had reigned in mythology. It's just that the members were amazing; in terms of numbers, he was inferior to the emperors of ancient China. Even though a king of the Age of Gods would have that much power. For one thing, her own father, the king of Colchis, had far more women than Fergus. And there were men among them…

"I have a rough idea of what your wish is."

"…You know."

"Haha… Medea, do you truly love me?"

"Yes."

Medea, who had already been found out, decided not to hesitate and to be bold, even if she were to be rejected. After answering, she did not avert her gaze from him. She resolved to face him boldly, even if she were to be rejected…

"Then will you marry me?"

"As expected, that's—what? What did you say?"

"Marriage. Ah, is it not to that extent?"

"No, no, you'll accept me right away!? And m-m-m-marriage!?"

The story was moving too fast. Medea was flustered. This man, he was too much of a man's man.

"Well, Medb told me. She said it was like eating a sweet potato for those watching, so I should just do it… the other wives have also given their permission. W-well, especially Nessa and Deirdre said it was pitiful, like seeing themselves. I think it's because they all know your story from your previous life."

As she was a representative figure whose life was ruined by a man and by a god, even Fergus's wives, who had met and fallen in love with Fergus, acknowledged her. They had all been together until they died, and Scáthach and the Morrígan had even watched over him at his deathbed. So they had no lingering regrets, and since they could meet him at any time with his Noble Phantasm, they didn't mind if a new woman appeared.

And especially, Fergus valued taking responsibility. If he dated a woman, he would take responsibility by marrying her. Having a counter-example like Cú Chulainn, he was even more obsessed with it.

"Or is it not to that extent? I wanted to take responsibility for Medea… was it too sudden and burdensome?"

"No, it's not that… really? I'm a widow who has already had several children, you know?"

"Nessa was the same. As for Conchobar, well, it was a time when he hadn't died, but he was an abandoned child… so it's not that different. Nessa is also a case whose life was ruined by a man and a child. I don't think it's on your level… but is that important? Or do you see me as some kind of unicorn who only likes virgins?"

"It's not that, but… is it really okay? I'm not a clean woman, you know."

"Are you dirtier than a god?"

"Ah."

Fergus immediately dissed the Morrígan. Perhaps because they had started on bad terms, they had a bickering relationship.

Fergus gently took Medea's hand.

"Medea. At first, I thought about finding a man who would make you happy. But… if that man is me, then shouldn't I be the one to accept you?"

"Fergus—sama."

"Is that alright? Medea. For me to take responsibility for your life."

".....Yes, I'd like that."

"Medea…"

The room gradually grew warmer. It began to heat up with the warmth of the two people, and the two adults, without a word, knew what they had to do. Medea slowly lay back, and Fergus approached her.

For the two of them, no more words were needed.

Time passed, and morning came. Medb went to the room with a triumphant air. It's all over now, right? With that thought, Medb threw open the door and entered!

"Yo! Did you two have a good time last night!?"

""Ah.""

"Ah, you're still cleaning up? I'll come back later!"

Thud!

"She endured that? Let's see how many hours… she endured for three hours? It seems she used magic, but she's still not ordinary."

Medb was impressed that Medea had lasted so long against the great stud Fergus, and she grinned.
