He couldn't concentrate during lectures, his mind constantly wandering to Sanemi and Iguro. During lunch break, Giyuu spotted Sanemi sitting with Iguro at a table outside. He debated whether to approach them, but ultimately decided against it. He didn't want to make things worse. Iguro noticed Giyuu staring and whispered something to Sanemi. Sanemi glanced up briefly, their eyes meeting for a split second before Giyuu looked away.
Sanemi seemed more relaxed around Iguro, laughing at something he said. It stung Giyuu's heart. Giyuu walked away quickly, feeling a pang of jealousy. He found an empty bench and sat down, pulling out his phone again. He typed a message to Sanemi but deleted it before hitting send. Later that afternoon, Giyuu saw Sanemi heading towards their dorm building. He took a deep breath and decided to confront him. "Sanemi!"
He called out, jogging to catch up. Sanemi stopped and turned around, his expression guarded as he waited for Giyuu to reach him. "What do you want?" He asked, avoiding eye contact. Giyuu stood in front of Sanemi, his heart racing.
"I just... wanted to talk. About last night."
He spoke softly, trying to keep his voice steady. Sanemi shifted uncomfortably, crossing his arms defensively.
"There's nothing to talk about. I said I needed time, and I meant it." He replied curtly, still not looking at Giyuu directly. Giyuu stepped closer, his frustration growing.
"Stop avoiding me like this. I know you felt something too." He reached out to touch Sanemi's arm, but Sanemi flinched away. Sanemi's eyes finally met Giyuu's, filled with a mix of anger and confusion.
"I don't know what I felt. It was just a moment of weakness. Don't make it more than it is."
He clenched his fists, his knuckles turning white. Giyuu's expression hardened, his own frustration turning into determination.
"A moment of weakness? Really? Then why did you stay with Iguro instead of coming back?"
He challenged, stepping even closer, their faces inches apart.!Sanemi backed away slightly, his back hitting the wall.
"Because I needed space from you! You're always there, always pushing, always making me feel things I don't want to feel!"
He snapped, his voice rising. "Fine! Than go!"Sanemi's eyes widened at Giyuu's outburst, taken aback by the anger in his voice. "Fine! I will!"
He shouted back, pushing past Giyuu and storming off towards the dorm entrance. Giyuu watched Sanemi disappear inside, feeling a mix of regret and helplessness. He slammed his fist against the wall where Sanemi had been standing. "Damn it..." He muttered under his breath, sliding down to sit on the ground, feeling defeated. Later that evening, Giyuu was alone in their dorm room again. He lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling, wondering if he had ruined everything between them.
The door creaked open, and Sanemi walked in with a suitcase. Giyuu sat up immediately, his heart racing again at Sanemi's return. "You're back..."
He said quietly, unsure of what to expect next. Sanemi set the suitcase down and turned to face Giyuu, his expression calmer but still guarded. "Yeah. I talked to Iguro. He said I was being stupid."
He admitted, running a hand through his hair. Giyuu got up and approached Sanemi cautiously. "And... what did you decide?"
He asked, his voice barely above a whisper, afraid of the answer. Sanemi sighed deeply, leaning against the wall again. "I decided to stop running away. From you, from my feelings. But I'm not making any promises."
He looked at Giyuu with a mix of vulnerability and defiance. Giyuu's heart skipped a beat at those words. He took another step closer, testing the boundaries.
"That's all I ask for. Just... don't shut me out again." He reached out tentatively, this time not aiming to touch him. Sanemi's breath hitched slightly, his tough facade cracking as he watched Giyuu's hand hover between them.
"I can't promise I won't get scared again. I'm not good at this whole relationship thing."
He confessed, his voice softer than usual. Giyuu smiled gently, his eyes filled with understanding. "Neither am I. But we can figure it out together. Slowly." He lowered his hand, respecting Sanemi's space but staying close. Sanemi let out a small, almost imperceptible laugh.
"You're so damn patient. It's annoying."
He teased, a hint of his old self returning. Giyuu chuckled softly, relieved to see Sanemi joking again. "And you're stubborn as hell. We balance each other out." He moved to sit on his bed, inviting Sanemi to do the same. Sanemi hesitated for a moment before joining Giyuu on the bed, sitting a bit closer than he normally would.
"Yeah, maybe we do." He said quietly, looking down at his hands in his lap.
"Because we are both completely idiots about a relationship. Maybe we search online some stuff? Damn I don't even know how it's working." Giyuu couldn't help but laugh at Sanemi's admission, feeling more comfortable now. "That's actually a good idea. I mean, I don't think any relationship comes with a manual."
He pulled out his phone, ready to search for advice. Sanemi peered over Giyuu's shoulder, their shoulders brushing against each other.
"What kind of articles are you looking for? 'How to Date Your Roommate Who's Also Your Rival'?" He teased again, a smirk playing on his lips. Giyuu rolled his eyes playfully and typed 'relationship advice for stubborn idiots'. "Hey, I'm not stubborn!"
Sanemi protested, but he couldn't hide his amusement. The search results popped up, showing various articles and forums.
"Looks like there's a lot to choose from. Maybe we should start with the basics - like how to communicate without fighting."
Giyuu suggested, scrolling through the options. Sanemi snorted and pointed at one article titled 'How to Have a Healthy Argument'. "That one seems fitting for us. I can already hear you lecturing me about healthy communication."
*He teased again, but there was a playful glint in his eyes. Giyuu smirked back, enjoying their banter. "And I can hear you throwing things in frustration. But we'll work on it."
He clicked on the article and started reading it aloud. Sanemi listened intently, occasionally making sarcastic comments about the advice. "Number one: Don't interrupt each other. Easy for you to say when you're the one always interrupting me."
