Chapter 235 - Chapter 235: Containing the Mana Sources Within — The Flying Fortress! Rushing to the Royal Capital! (Bonus Chapter!)

After locking onto the Mana source of Key Magic, Yuuki's expression sharpened.

This was it.

Let's begin.

Buzz—

Yuuki began activating the mana of Key Magic.

Outside—

An astonishing surge of mana erupted from Yuuki's body, instantly startling Mariella and the others, who were still restoring their mana by eating the food prepared by the Sheep Chefs.

However, remembering Yuuki's earlier instructions, they merely glanced over once before returning their focus to eating—though they subconsciously lowered their movements and chewing sounds, afraid of disturbing him.

At that moment—

Within Yuuki's body, the mana source of Key Magic began to glow a vivid emerald green. Guided by his consciousness, it slowly moved toward the other mana sources.

When Yuuki had first discovered the existence of mana sources within his soul, he had experimented with fusing sources of the same attribute.

The result had been clear.

Different mana sources repelled one another like identical magnetic poles—before they could even make contact, the repulsive force generated by the mana itself would force them apart.

But now—

Under Key Magic's authority to "open" and "close" all things, the repulsive field emitted by the mana source was opened.

The two mana sources made contact.

Yuuki's heart jolted.

The mana surging from his body boiled violently for a split second—and in that instant, the Key Magic mana source swallowed the other source whole.

And yet—

The Key Magic mana source itself showed no change.

Devouring?

No.

More accurately—

Containment.

Suppressing his excitement, Yuuki carefully continued.

One by one—

The Key Magic mana source became like an opened spatial gate, steadily containing each remaining mana source.

About ten minutes later—

The chaotic multitude of mana sources inside Yuuki had completely vanished.

Only six remained, floating calmly at the core of his soul.

Magic Sources Remaining:

Spatial MagicThread Magic — FateCorpse Spirit Magic — SoulWorld Tree MagicPermeation MagicKey Magic (Fire, Wind, Minerals, etc.)

Staring at the suddenly spacious interior of his soul, Yuuki oddly felt a hint of unfamiliarity.

The boiling mana around his body receded and returned inward.

Yuuki slowly opened his eyes and checked his condition.

There was no difference from before.

He had feared that containing mana sources might reduce his total mana—but that concern proved unfounded.

Whoosh.

Yuuki raised his palm.

At a thought, flames appeared—then instantly transformed into water, wind, earth, stone…

Multiple elements cycled smoothly through his hand.

"No issues with spellcasting either," Yuuki said with a smile.

"Looks like it worked."

The success of Key Magic containment removed his greatest hidden danger.

"Oh?"

Then Yuuki noticed something else.

The chaotic "ki" surrounding his body—once numbering over seventy distinct signatures—had been reduced to six, perfectly corresponding to the six remaining mana sources.

Yuuki pondered this briefly.

It confirmed his earlier hypothesis, and while his body and mana felt unchanged, fewer qi signatures was undeniably beneficial.

As he refocused—

Yuuki realized something interesting.

Among the six remaining magics—Permeation, Fate, World Tree, Spatial, Corpse Spirit, and Key Magic—

Aside from World Tree Magic, all of them leaned heavily toward support.

Even World Tree Magic wasn't a purely offensive spell.

Yuuki remained seated, lifting a finger and gently tapping the ground.

Crack.

A faint tremor ran through the earth.

A tiny fissure appeared beneath him, from which a sapling sprouted.

It grew at an explosive rate, lifting Yuuki upward as it expanded—within just two or three breaths, a massive tree over ten meters tall towered at the center of the arena.

"World Tree Magic…"

Yuuki murmured, carefully observing the entire activation process.

If Key Magic determined whether he could retain multiple magics—

Then World Tree Magic was the core of the upcoming Apotheosis Ritual. It was the key that would pry open the door to Godhood.

His understanding of the Sephiroth concept was still theoretical.

Now that he possessed World Tree Magic, he had to verify every assumption.

There could be no mistakes at a critical moment.

Unknowingly—

Mariella, Rebecca, Fana, and Neige finished restoring their mana.

They stood quietly below, watching Yuuki seated high atop the giant tree.

Time passed.

Suddenly—

A subtle, eerie mana fluctuation entered Yuuki's perception.

It was completely unlike human mana—obscure, warped—and it spiked abruptly before vanishing just as fast.

The entire phenomenon lasted only an instant.

Yet it jolted Yuuki awake from his deep insight.

His eyes snapped open.

"So, it's begun already… I didn't expect to sense it from this far away."

Yuuki turned his gaze toward the Royal Capital of the Clover Kingdom, a trace of gravity in his eyes.

After a brief pause, he looked away.

"The time was short—but my understanding of World Tree Magic should be enough for what comes next."

With a thought—

Boom.

The towering ancient tree dissolved into emerald mana particles.

Yuuki descended gently, landing on the ground.

Seeing this, Mariella and the others quickly gathered around him.

"Sorry to keep you waiting," Yuuki said apologetically.

"Our mana has fully recovered," Mariella replied immediately.

"We're ready to depart at any time."

"Before we go," Yuuki said with a smile,

"there's one more 'gift' Conrad left behind."

He reached into subspace and retrieved the Imperial Sword Eistodgia.

The sword showed no reaction.

Emerald mana flowed from Yuuki's palm, enveloping the blade.

"Open."

With Key Magic activated, the sword finally responded—soft white light spreading across its crystal surface.

"Even the will of past Wizard Kings is meaningless before Key Magic."

Yuuki casually examined the sword, then stabbed it into the ground.

Buzz—

As the blade sank beneath the surface, something activated.

The arena began to tremble violently.

White mana radiated outward from the sword in rippling waves.

Yuuki grasped the hilt and twisted it—like turning a key.

RUMBLE—!

The tremors intensified.

From above, one would see the truth—

The entire massive arena was detaching from the ground, slowly lifting into the sky.

"We're… rising?" Rebecca exclaimed.

"We're separating from the island!"

Mariella formed a massive ice mirror midair her face filled with shock.

"This is insane!" Neige shouted excitedly as the ground swayed.

"It's like a floating island…" Fana whispered, covering her mouth.

Yuuki smiled at their reactions.

"More accurately—this is a flying fortress. Conrad prepared it long ago.

Now it's ours."

He had only discovered it earlier when the roots of the World Tree extended downward—revealing hidden magic arrays beneath the arena.

The key to activating it—

Was the Imperial Sword.

Even Mariella, usually composed, couldn't hide her excitement.

A massive airborne fortress was the perfect base.

"Next stop—Royal Capital!"

"Spatial Magic — Grand Transposition!"

Yuuki placed both hands on the sword's hilt.

Space-mana surged outward, engulfing the entire flying fortress.

In an instant—

The colossal structure shimmered… and vanished.

Clover Kingdom — Royal Capital

The once-glorious capital lay in chaos.

Castles lay in ruins.

Explosions and roars echoed endlessly through the sky.

Due to the reincarnation magic, elven souls had turned many Magic Knights against their comrades, plunging the forces into disarray.

Some captains had even been reincarnated.

The defensive line had collapsed.

At the capital's core—

A colossal palace of shadow loomed over all others.

The Shadow Palace.

Outside it—

The Black Bulls were locked in battle with reincarnated elves.

BOOM! BOOM!

Explosions thundered.

The Black Bulls were exhausted.

"These guys are ridiculously strong!" Magna panted.

"That's what makes it fun!" Luck replied, electricity crackling.

"Don't give up now!" Gauche shouted, summoning mirrors.

"Shut up! This is your fault!" Vanessa yelled.

"We wouldn't be this drained otherwise!"

Even with Charmy's food magic, stamina and focus had limits.

Suddenly—

An overwhelming mana fluctuation appeared above them.

Both sides froze and looked up.

A massive floating landmass had appeared overhead.

"…I'm not hallucinating, right?" Magna muttered, removing his sunglasses.

"An island… in the sky?"

"There's terrifying mana up there," Luck said, hair standing on end.

"Please don't be an enemy…" Vanessa groaned.

The elves reacted instantly.

No allies were above—only overwhelming threat.

They launched their magic skyward.

Before it could reach the fortress—

A colossal silver slash cut through the air, annihilating every spell.

WHOOSH!

A silver streak descended like a meteor.

In an instant—

It hovered above the reincarnated elves.

"What do you think you're doing—attacking my flying fortress?"

Yuuki stood in midair, cold gaze sweeping over the elves glowing with golden mana.

Their markings and aura made them unmistakable.

"Damn human!"

"Kill him!"

The elves roared in fury—

And the battlefield entered a new phase.
