Chapter 96 - Chapter 96: Awe Toward a Different World

The more she learned, the more terrifyingly vast this world became in Tohsaka Rin's eyes.

Just within this living room alone sat several beings who were clearly not human.

A middle-school girl who could fire off dozens of large-scale spells with a flick of her hand—

in her world, such a person would absolutely be Rank: Brand at minimum, on par with the Lords of the Clock Tower.

But Le Fay?

Rin was fairly certain even Grand wouldn't be an exaggeration.

After all, the girl hadn't even recited an aria before unleashing a barrage of spells that could level a block.

Even if the naming conventions were different, overwhelming power was overwhelming power.

And from what Le Fay casually revealed…

Her specialty wasn't single-target magic.

It was wide-area annihilation.

In Rin's world, large-scale thaumaturgy required entire teams of magi working in concert.

Only magi from the Age of Gods—or a particularly high-ranked Caster-class Servant—could perform such feats alone.

Which meant that this middle-school girl, placed into the Moonlit World, might very well qualify as a mid-to-high tier Caster.

That thought alone gave Rin a headache.

And then, other than Izumi, Le Fay, and Asia, everyone else in the room was something nonhuman.

Both little girls had profiles absurd enough to make any magus faint.

The petite blonde—Agurola—was one of the four true vampire progenitors of this world, and she possessed twelve Beast Vassals.

Those vassals were the monstrous birds Rin had witnessed earlier—yet Le Fay explained that Agurola's vassals were far stronger than ordinary ones.

Twelve of them.

Rin felt a migraine pulse behind her eyes.

And then there was Ophis.

Even without Le Fay's explanation, Rin could sense the overwhelming presence of the girl who'd stared at her the moment she stepped inside.

One of the strongest dragons in existence.

In Rin's world, dragons existed only in myths and ancient records—nothing a modern magus could ever hope to see.

Yet here sat one in the form of a quiet loli.

After listening to Le Fay explain this world's structure, Rin only had one thought left:

She wanted to go home. Immediately.

If Izumi didn't open the path after dinner, she swore she'd cry.

This world was too dangerous.

She needed the familiar insanity of her own universe, not this overclocked nightmare difficulty.

Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Izumi finished cooking dinner and called out to her.

"Rin, food's ready."

Rin eyed the dishes brought out, then frowned slightly.

"…They look the same as ours."

Izumi snorted.

"Of course they do. Our worlds share similar cultures. Food ended up pretty close."

He rolled his eyes.

"Otherwise, how do you think we can even understand each other's language?"

Rin froze, utterly unable to refute that.

She felt strangely… insulted.

Back in her own world, she was a prodigy—a top-class magus with immense pride and talent.

But here?

Her so-called "talent" meant absolutely nothing.

This world was a place where you could randomly pick someone off the street and they'd probably beat her into the pavement.

It hurt her soul.

As Rin quietly ate, she thought only about returning home as soon as possible.

At the same time, Izumi was deep in another kind of thought—calculating the power scale between this world and the Moonlit World.

The Moonlit World's upper limit looked high on paper.

But Gaia and Alaya constantly suppressed everything.

Realistically? Their fighting power was capped.

For someone like Izumi—who stood at the peak of transcendent beings—entering that world meant he would effectively be walking as the ceiling itself.

Other than the absolute apex Servants, nothing posed a threat.

High-tier Servants were around upper-demon-class.

Gilgamesh maybe hit demon-lord-class.

Izumi could punch both into retirement with one hit.

His lips curled.

"Bullying Servants might be fun."

Servants weren't even their true spirits—their authorities remained locked within the Throne.

Even their original bodies couldn't manifest here freely.

He wasn't afraid of anyone.

And the Moonlit World was overflowing with artifacts, Magecraft theories, Holy Relics, Noble Phantasms—

a perfect playground for someone whose system allowed cross-world exchanges.

By the time he finished eating, his excitement was building.

Izumi casually stood up and spoke to Asia:

"Asia, from tomorrow, go to school on your own, okay?

I'll be taking Le Fay with me to Rin's world. There's a lot to… collect."

Beside him, Le Fay's eyes sparkled like a kid at Christmas.

"Izumi-sama! You're really taking me? I can go too!?"

He nodded.

"Of course. You want to test your spells against Servants, right?"

Le Fay practically bounced in place.

"I'm going to pack!!"

She sprinted off at full speed.

Rin froze.

Then slowly… very slowly… turned her head toward Izumi.

"Y-You're coming to our world…?"

"Obviously."

Izumi answered without hesitation.

"Your world isn't dangerous to me. Might as well go sightseeing."

He smiled.

"And you're not getting away."

Rin's face drained of color.

"C-Can I… retract my earlier offer…? I—I changed my mind!"

She slammed her palms on the table in panic.

"And can you PLEASE not come!?"

Now she understood—

why he had so easily agreed to send her home first.

Everything was in his calculations.

And now her only hope of escaping his conditions was evaporating.

Tohsaka Rin wanted to curl up and cry.

Was this how a dignified magus fell into someone's claws!?
