Scott got to Betty's parents' house very late because he had to trek all the way there. He had no money on him anymore, and his credit card had burned with his mansion along with everything he ever owned in his life.
The thought of it made his chest burn with rage, and his hands clenched as the anger rose again.
Tonight was already heading toward disaster, and he knew it. If Betty did not come out to face what she had done, things would only get worse. She owed him that much after everything.
"Betty," he shouted, banging hard on the door and the windows with all his strength. She refused to pick his calls no matter how many times he tried, and that only made his anger grow.
By now, Scott was sure the news about his burnt car had spread everywhere. His girlfriend must have heard it already, and even his ex girlfriend Riley would have heard too. The thought of Riley hearing about it made his jaw tighten.
