Chapter 8 - CHAPTER 8 - DO OR DIE!

I. GRANNY'S FEAR

The teacher was teaching his lesson, and the door slowly opened. In came Antany with a knife. He was very much exhausted, and his clothes were a reddish color, mostly covered in blood. The class was in total shock, including Elias, Gracia, the teacher, and the bully gang. Antany slowly pointed his knife toward Elias and shouted, "ELIASSSS!!!"

Minutes before Antany entered the classroom, Granny was washing clothes when she suddenly felt a disturbance in her house. She started to hear some creepy sounds and voices. Granny was always scared of the sealed room. Her biggest fear was inside that sealed room, and on the previous day, Elias had opened it. This made her even more worried than usual.

She went near the sealed room to see what had happened. But the sealed room had already opened by itself, and the entire house was filled with dark shadows and creepy figures. She ran inside, and there she saw some creatures emerging from the corner of the room.

She thought that the diary had opened by itself, and she was right. The creatures emerged from the diary and were standing in the room. Some started to fly around, and some started to crack the ground and went underground.

Granny did not know what to do. So she ran toward the door and tried to close it, but some creatures, in order to be free, did not allow Granny to close the door. These monsters had been sealed in the room for over ten-plus years, and they knew that if the door closed, the chances of freedom were very slim.

Most of the creatures had already flown out, and the remaining creatures wanted the same. They all needed freedom. They all came from the diary. The creatures did not allow Granny to close the door, and she finally left. The monsters were happy because they thought they were free. They even planned to kill Granny if she came in their way. Many monsters started marching out of the sealed room.

The monsters had their own hierarchy. The smaller monsters paved the way for the bigger monsters to come out. Four smaller-level monsters were placed at the door entrance to prevent Granny from entering the room. A black thorny monster, with each thorn being thirty centimeters long, came out, cracking and breaking the room's floor. It was the highest-level monster compared to the other small monsters. It was said that this black thorny and spiky monster was an underling to the Urban Legend known as SAVIOR.

The black thorny monster went out of the room, and an immediate order was given to it. "BRING"—this word revolved around the black thorny monster. Its power is to suck blood and gain stamina. It did not have any flashy powers like most high-level monsters, but it was still powerful. The black thorny monster ordered the small creatures to kill Clara, but the small creatures were afraid to do so.

These creatures had been sealed for more than ten-plus years, and it impacted the monsters' behavior heavily. Some of the monsters developed rage and better instincts, and some of the monsters developed so-called fear. The black thorny monster attacked the monsters that showed fear, saying the monsters' blood should be full of bravery and not cowardice. It nearly killed most of the small monstrous creatures.

Granny did not know what to do. She finally decided to do that one thing. She motivated herself, saying, "This is for the best for Elias." She went to her room and, inside the cupboard, she took a ring box. Inside the box was a stone which was in the shape of a diamond. It was not a ring, but a stone. When Granny touched it, it started to glow.

It was not a normal stone. There was a myth that was rumored around the city about the Urban Legend SAVIOR and his stones of immortality. It is believed that he had nearly twelve stones and each had its own uses. Now, the myth was proven true; Granny already had one of the twelve stones, and it showed that she was also connected to the Urban Legend SAVIOR somehow.

Granny had the white stone, and it started to glow in a white color. Not everyone could make it glow. Only the previous and current users of this stone could possibly activate its power. Granny had many experiences with the white glowing stone in the past, which were completely unknown and hidden from everyone, including her own grandson Elias.

That white glowing stone had the power of the wind. The users could move faster and sometimes even float when used by a skilled user. Granny was so experienced that she had the stone's power without even using the stone. She had it in her blood and the veins of her body.

Even when Elias was trying to open the sealed room, she used her power to move faster than usual and resisted him from entering. She thought of destroying the stone, but she knew she had to use it when the time came, and it could also be very useful and helpful for protecting Elias from his weird dreams and tragic past events.

Granny then took the white air stone and ran toward the door. There she saw the black thorny monster attacking the weak small creatures. She was afraid. She went near the door to close it, but there were four monsters standing beside the door. There were two on each side, and Granny had no other way than to use the white air stone's power.

She then kept the stone on her palm and closed her hand. She already had pretty good experience, so it was much easier for Granny to kill the monsters. She used her power and defeated the four small low-level monsters and went inside. She caught the black thorny monster's attention. They both were staring at each other, seeing eye to eye. They both rushed toward each other. Granny used her stone's power, and the black thorny monster itself was a power machine.

The black thorny monster easily scratched Granny and rushed outside. The monster's plan was not to attack, but to go free. The word "BRING" was constantly ringing inside the monster's head, and it decided to run away, and it did run away. Granny was injured by the monster. She tried to catch it, but she couldn't.

Then she saw another high-level monster coming from the diary; she ran inside and closed the diary. Immediately, a complete silence filled the room. Granny checked everything thoroughly to see whether anything suspicious was going on. Granny relaxed for a bit, but suddenly many creatures opened the diary themselves and flew away.

A red-colored hand also came from the diary. Fearing that it would bring danger to the environment and Elias, she needed to act quickly but had literally no idea what to do. Then the white stone glowed, and she decided to place it on the diary's keyhole. She went for the diary where the monster was emerging, but it had an invisible layer around it. Granny couldn't move any further forward.

But she thought of only one thing, and that was "ELIAS." For him, she would do anything. She decided to move forward, pushing the invisible layer and eventually breaking it with the help of the stone. Then she placed the stone on the diary, but nothing happened. She realized that she had kept it upside down. She placed it correctly on the diary's front cover and inserted the stone into the keyhole.

The red-colored monster emerging from the diary was pushed down, and the white stone now served as the protector of this house from the monstrous creatures. But nothing comes without a sacrifice. She had to place the white air stone on the diary forever, as the seal was already weak, and this was the only possible way.

Granny then waited there for nearly ten minutes, and then she locked the room and sealed it. She was very weak, as she was already old, and now she had to fight medium to high-level monsters as well. She was also injured and was slightly bleeding from the attack of the black thorny monster. She was already worried about the monsters that had flown away.

She could not move or do work for some time. So she sat on the sofa, looking at the rooftop, and thought of Elias for a moment, as Elias had already complained about the pills not working properly... "Elias, are you okay?"

II. THE CLASSROOM

In the classroom, Antany stood with a knife pointed toward Elias, his clothes soaked in Clara's blood. The teacher, Elias, Gracia, and even the bully gang began to fear him.

The teacher moved toward Antany with his arms stretched out. Antany shouted, "Leave me, Sir!" and scratched the teacher's face. The teacher fell down in pain. Then, Antany ran straight toward Elias and kicked him in the chest. Elias suffocated and fell.

Out of rage, Antany tried to stab Elias, but the teacher stepped in between them, and the knife got stuck in the teacher's right arm. Antany showed no emotion seeing his teacher crying. His one and only goal was to kill Elias, as he believed Elias was the reason for everything.

The teacher was in extreme pain. The bully gang tried to scare Antany, but it ended with one member being scratched across his body. Antany punched Elias' face for the tenth time, leaving his face bleeding on the ground.

Elias was very hungry at that time, and the smell of the teacher's blood reached his nose. Elias became uncomfortable and felt even hungrier than before. He realized that the pills had completely failed to work, and now he had to suffer.

Antany went near the teacher and plucked the knife from his hand without hesitation. "AAAAHHH!" cried the teacher.

As Antany tried to stab again, Gracia stepped in between them and shouted, "ANTANY! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"

He pointed the knife toward Gracia and said, "I have nothing to do with you. Move, and just give this idiot to me."

Gracia continued guarding Elias, which gave some courage to the boys nearby. When Antany was about to strike Gracia, the boys rushed in and held his hands tight. Antany was unable to move, so he cried out in pain, "My Clara died because of Elias! I will definitely kill him!"

The whole class went silent upon hearing the news of Clara's death. No one knew what had happened, and everyone was clueless. Gracia took Elias out of the school while Antany was tied to a pillar. The teacher called the police, and everyone waited for their arrival.

III. THE RIDE

Gracia and Elias ran out of the entrance gate. Elias' face was covered in blood, and he was very uncomfortable and hungry. Elias was scared of his Granny, knowing she would be frightened to see her grandson's face covered in blood.

They decided to go to Gracia's house since her mother would be out at work. Elias couldn't walk because his leg had swollen during the fight, and he was not in his right mind. Gracia booked a cab, and they headed to her house. While traveling, they saw a huge crowd. The surroundings were noisy, and everyone was talking; it felt like a fish market.

Gracia stepped out and went through the crowd, where she saw a white cloth soaked in blood. Gracia thought this might be Clara. A person nearby asked, "How did this happen? How can someone kill a girl like this?"

Gracia was shocked and confirmed that the body was Clara's. She assumed Antany had killed her. The body was surrounded by police, and even they felt something weird while looking at it. Gracia stepped back into the cab with eyes full of tears. Elias asked what had happened, and she replied, "Clara! Antany killed Clara!"

Elias broke into tears. People started giving way for the cab, and it moved on. However, Elias knew that Antany did not kill Clara; he knew something suspicious was going on.

IV. THE ESCAPE

In the classroom, Antany was tied to a pillar. Ambulances arrived and picked up the teacher and the other injured students. Many people left the school, and when the Principal found out, he also called the police.

Only a few boys remained to guard Antany. One member of the bully gang was in the hospital, while the other three members guarded Antany with a small group of boys. Antany moved his body back and forth, trying to loosen the rope. He shouted in pain and threatened the boys. He then looked at the bully gang and laughed loudly. "You all are nothing but a bunch of cowards!"

The gang's expressions changed. Antany mentioned Ram, the former leader of the bully gang. Antany continued, "I killed him! He was hopeless and died in agony." Antany began describing the methods he used to kill Ram, and suddenly—PUNCH!

A guy from the bully gang, who was very close to Ram, broke into tears and punched Antany in the face. Antany kept laughing, which made the gang even angrier. Antany was intentionally provoking them while simultaneously moving to loosen the rope.

Then, one of them took Antany's knife and marched toward him. The other members tried to stop him, but Antany shouted, "Come on! Kill me!" The boy lunged forward to stab Antany, but Antany shifted his body, and the knife sliced straight through the rope.

Now free, Antany grabbed the knife back and threatened everyone to sit quietly. The sound of sirens began to approach. Antany panicked and left the classroom. As the police entered through the front, Antany hopped over the wall at the back exit. Thinking Elias would have gone home, Antany headed straight for Elias' house with his knife and his blood-covered shirt.

V. THE SAME MONSTER

Elias and Gracia were crying inside the cab. Elias tried to comfort Gracia, but deep inside, he was in a strange state as the smell of blood continued to fill his nose.

The usual way to Gracia's home was under construction, so they had to take a long detour. As the cab entered a narrow street, Elias said to Gracia, "I smell blood!"

Gracia looked at him in shock. Immediately, the road started cracking down the middle. The driver stopped the cab, and everyone stepped outside, completely surprised. The atmosphere turned black and thick, becoming denser than usual.

Elias felt a strange sensation in his stomach. He feared a dream was beginning, as he was often pulled into weird dreams without even being asleep. The road cracked further, and a black, thorny hand emerged. They remembered a lesson where the teacher described a monster that was an underling to a legend called the SAVIOR. They were amazed to realize the lessons were true.

What they didn't know was that this was the exact same monster that had killed Clara in front of Antany. The monster's hand reached toward Elias and Gracia, terrifying them. The cab driver, who was the oldest among them, abandoned the cab and ran away.

The hand passed by them. They were surprised not to be attacked. Instead, the hand went straight to an old woman and caught her. The monster's body was covered in spiky thorns, and the old woman screamed for help. Because she resembled his own grandmother, Elias stood against the thorny monster despite his fear and the weird sensation he was feeling.

He knew the pills had failed, but he stood his ground on his swollen legs. Seeing Elias' confidence, Gracia also gained courage and supported him. Elias grabbed a spear-like object from the construction area to use as a weapon, while Gracia took a spade. They charged forward, screaming at the monster.

The old woman began to bleed from her waist due to the monster's tight, thorny grip. Elias and Gracia attacked rapidly, but their efforts were useless. Their strength was nothing compared to what Antany had done to the same monster earlier. Antany had single-handedly stabbed the monster thirty to forty times until it left Clara. Here, the two were attacking continuously, but they couldn't leave a single scratch. This showed that Antany's strength surpassed Elias and Gracia combined.

The woman cried in pain. Elias shouted, "I will save you, Granny!" because he had already lost so many loved ones—his father, mother, grandpa, and now Clara.

Suddenly, a blue arrow flew over Elias' head and pierced the thorny monster's body. For the first time, the monster screamed in pain. It threw the woman away. A voice came from behind: "Save her!"

Elias and Gracia caught the woman together, preventing further harm. However, she was still bleeding, and the blood got onto Elias' hands. Elias' mind slowly began to change. A second blue arrow pierced the monster. Then, a blue stone fell from the monster's body.

Gracia noticed the stone. The monster tried to reclaim it, but another blue arrow forced it to retreat underground, leaving the stone behind. Granny was bleeding from her waist, and Elias had blood on his face and leg, but the woman was still able to walk.

Gracia took the stone and hid it in her pocket. She had a deep interest in researching these stones, and this one looked exactly like the drawings in her notebook. She said nothing and kept it a secret.

"PASCO!" the old woman shouted, pointing toward her grandson. Pasco was the one who had shot the monster three times. The atmosphere returned to normal, though the cab was half-broken. They needed a driver since they didn't know how to drive.

"Pasco knows how to drive," the woman said. She saw Elias' swollen leg and decided to help them since they were the ones who had stood against the monster when the driver fled. "You can stay in my house for now, and I'll treat your wounds," she said.

"Your wounds need treatment too," Pasco added. They all headed to Pasco's home.

VI. THE MASTERMIND

A dark man in a suit with a red cape, his body covered in a glowing aura, sat on a throne playing chess against himself. He looked very calm but powerful. His hand shone with the TIME STONE.

He knew that Elias was experiencing a different kind of hunger and that Granny was in big trouble. He also knew that Granny had his white air stone and that she had used it to prevent the monsters from coming.

He calmly moved his queen and took a bishop. "The bishop died too soon," he remarked. He had a powerful energy all around him.

He smiled slightly as the thorny monster appeared before him. "You summoned me, Master," the creature said.

"Where is the stone?" asked the dark man. The monster confessed that he had lost it. The dark man stood up and stepped down from his throne. The monster was terrified.

"I have made all these plans and created every problem Elias is facing. It took me many years to activate my power," the dark man continued. "And now my power is deactivated. Your job was to bring me my stones, and you failed successfully."

The dark man marched forward step by step, and the monster retreated. Then, the monster realized the dark man currently had no powers and stopped retreating. It raised its hand to attack the dark man.

"My powers have been deactivated, but that doesn't mean I have become powerless... YOU FOOL!" said the man without any fear.

The monster asked, "Why are you doing this?" But the man did not want to answer everything. He just pointed to the defeated bishop and calmly said, "Because it already happened."

Then, the dark man shredded the thorny monster into pieces. All the other monsters in the area began to fear him. It was a mysterious place, a void with unexplainable dimensions. The dark man stepped into the light, removed his hood to reveal his true face, and announced:

"I, SAVIOR, HEREBY RULE OVER THIS PLACE ONCE AGAIN, AND YOU SILLY PAWNS SHALL HELP ME REGAIN MY STONES!"
