[Danzō closed his eyes, speaking with certainty: "Akatsuki has invaded. The Akatsuki leader who defeated Jiraiya—Pain—has come personally."]
[Homura: "Not only did they defeat Jiraiya, but now they're attacking Konoha?!"]
[Danzō nodded. "To collect the Tailed Beasts, they are hunting jinchūriki everywhere."]
["Including the One-Tails of the Sand Village—most jinchūriki have likely fallen into their hands already."]
[Koharu: "Then their purpose in attacking Konoha is…?"]
[Danzō, eyes still closed: "The Fourth Hokage's legacy—Uzumaki Naruto."]

Tsunade's face turned black.

"If I really do return and become Hokage in the future, the FIRST person I'll deal with is you!"

[Kurenai walked out—her belly visibly large.]
["Nani?"]
[Shikamaru rushed toward her. "You can't be outside right now!"]
[Kurenai: "Shikamaru—what's going on?"]
[Shikamaru: "Akatsuki has invaded."]
[BOOM!]
[A giant centipede smashed into their location.]
["Kurenai-sensei, please step back!"]
[Kurenai retreated while Shikamaru formed hand signs and used Shadow Possession to restrain the centipede.]
["Die!"]
[BOOM!]
[Shikamaru's explosive-tagged kunai blew the centipede apart.]
[Kurenai: "Shikamaru! Are you okay?"]
[Shikamaru: "I'm fine. But Kurenai-sensei, you need to go to the underground shelter immediately."]
["I'll escort you halfway. If anything happens to you or the baby… I wouldn't be able to face Asuma."]
Konoha — Chūnin Exam Arena
Kakashi wiggled his eyebrows at Asuma. "Oh ho~ Asuma, not bad~"
Guy gave Asuma a thumbs-up and a sparkling smile. "YOUTHFUL!!!"
Asuma scratched his head, embarrassed.
Kurenai blushed furiously and lowered her head.
Tenten: "Kurenai-sensei! So you and Asuma-sensei… had a thing!?"
Chōji: "Wow! I totally didn't notice! Shikamaru, you're the smartest—did you see it coming?"
Shikamaru put on a wise expression.
"Of course. I figured it out long ago."
In reality, Shikamaru was screaming inside:
NANI!? NANI!?
Kurenai-sensei…
actually has a thing with Asuma-sensei!?
