Axel bounced, stretched his hands, warming up as he observed the environment, the trees retracting, soil slowly turning to rocks, the scent of lava replacing the woody smell of the jungle.
It was a view he'd never get used to, rather than growing, everything was reverting back in real time, as if time was moving backwards for them.
How intriguing.
His gaze moved towards the horizon, far away the dragon must be stirring awake.
And he was patiently waiting for it, this time he wasn't going to be arrogant, rather he was going to test, find out information about the dragon, and thankfully he had the thread of continuity, in case he got into a pinch.
This wasn't going to be a brawl, rather it would be a hunt.
Axel smiled as he remembered a video game he used to play, where you had to hunt monsters, from harmless herbivores to gigantic wyverns.
I was pretty good at that, even earning the title wyvern slaying.
Somehow that makes me feel more confident.
