Aurora had no intention of rushing the construction of their new settlement. For once, she wanted to slow down. She had spent months moving from tribe to tribe, solving one problem after another, teaching people from sunrise until sunset, and constantly pushing herself toward the next mission.
Now she finally had a place that belonged to her, and there was no reason to transform it overnight. The valley wasn't going anywhere. The academy could wait. The houses could wait. Even the roads could wait. For the first time since arriving in the Beastworld, she wanted to enjoy the process instead of racing toward the result.
That was why, when she woke the following morning to the pale light filtering into their temporary cave, her first thought wasn't construction. It was breakfast.
