Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: New Home

"Is this our new home?!" Hestia asked in shock, standing in front of a huge mansion.

"Yes, we only had enough money for this one." I said, smiling.

There were many houses on the real estate market much larger than this one, and accordingly, they were more expensive. But I couldn't spend all the money on a house because we still had so much to buy for our new home.

To be honest, I was surprised when I received the reward, several hundred million, although many were too tense.

Rumors about the confrontation with Uranus spread throughout the city and wouldn't die down in the coming weeks. Many supported us, calling it a "quadruple alliance of goddesses," something that hadn't happened in this city for a long time, if ever.

But there were also those who openly ridiculed us and this supposed "alliance," and of course, it was Uranus, joined by Apollo and several other minor gods.

In any case, I think my actions could really trigger a war. Conflicts are constantly breaking out around the city, between families on our side and families on Uranus's.

Honestly, I got the impression it was more like a gang war over territory. The only thing missing was epic chases and shootouts.

"Okay, let's not waste time. Let's go!" I said as I stepped into the mansion.

Hestia immediately followed me, her expression genuinely surprised.

"The ceilings are so high..."

"Is that such a big hallway?"

"How are we even going to clean this house? It'll take weeks!"

Hestia continued talking, her demeanor reminiscent of a sweet girl surprised by things.

Then she turned to me.

"Where's our room?" she asked, almost making me stumble.

"Ours?" I asked, trying not to stutter.

I don't argue, I wanted her as a girlfriend, but weren't we moving in together too quickly? What if she... at night...

"Well, as a goddess, I can't leave my 'daughter' alone in this big house. Who knows, thieves or bandits might break in. I can protect you." Hestia said, uttering utter nonsense.

Thieves? Bandits? The only danger here is you! And I'm not sure I'll be against that danger if it happens...

"Well, I haven't chosen a room yet." I said.

"Great, then trust me! I'll find us the best room!" she shouted and ran up the stairs, where most of the rooms were located on the second floor.

I could only sigh and sit down on the couch, but I couldn't sit there for even a few minutes before there was a knock at the door.

Wondering who it could be, I immediately ducked down and opened the door, revealing a blonde swordswoman.

"Ais? What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Hello, Evernight. I actually want to give you a message from my goddess," she said.

I stepped aside, inviting her in.

She merely smiled slightly and stepped over the threshold.

"Congratulations on your purchase. But isn't this mansion too big for two people? How will you clean it?" Ais asked, following me to the couch in the living room.

"Well, I still have quite a bit of money left, so I can hire a maid." I replied, sitting down on the couch.

Ais sat down on the other couch across from me.

"I see. By the way, where is the goddess Hestia now?" Ais asked.

"Running around the second floor, choosing a room for us." I replied.

"Us? You and Lady Hestia..." She trailed off as I shook my head, but then added, blushing slightly.

"Bye..."

"Anyway, what does the goddess Loki want?" I asked.

"She wants to meet." Ais said.

I couldn't help but frown.

"You told her what I said, didn't you? And isn't she currently meeting with you?" I asked.

"You misunderstood. Also present at this meeting will be the goddess Freya, the goddess Hephaestus, the goddess Loki, and, of course, the goddess Hestia, and you." Ais said.

Why would four goddesses, and I, a demigoddess, need to meet? They're planning something...

"Will this meeting be dedicated to Uranus?" I asked.

"Yes, among other things!" Ais replied.

"Okay, where and when?" I asked.

"Goddess Loki wants to meet at your new home." Ais said.

"I see... Anyway, tell Loki we can arrange a meeting this weekend." I said, to which the blonde nodded.

"Then that's all. I need to get back, or Loki will be pouting." Ais said, blushing slightly.

I couldn't help but be surprised. She's been showing a wide range of emotions more and more often, which is good news. In any case, it's better than looking like an emotionless robot.

After seeing Ais off, I went up to the second floor in search of Hestia.

As soon as I opened the big door where our room was supposed to be, I saw Hestia, naked...

Her perfect, large, firm breasts simply beckoned...

Huh?

Am I just imagining things, or am I feeling dizzy?

What's wrong with me...

I couldn't say a word, then I felt a blow, and the world plunged into darkness.
