"Finally!" Jormy launches herself at me as soon as her feet are on the ground. I try and summon something but she's already punched a hole in my chest. At the same time a bunch of metal shards rip through my torso. I almost scream in pain before I realise that I literally can't. I don't know how to make sounds with this body yet. Also I can't feel pain. I mean I've only just noticed that my arms have fallen off. I guess that makes sense, I'm a soul manipulating a meat suit now.
"This is what this was for?!" Lighting engulf both of us. I finally manage to summon Raven to block it while Jormy just laughs as she sizzles. I regrow a large arm made out of tentacles without really thinking about it, then bring it down on her head. Her face cracks the floor from the impact while I look at the huge arm in surprise. Raven and I just stare at each other because I didn't think I'd be able to do that. Ok if I just focus then I can… ok regeneration is way easier in this body. Silver linings I guess. "You couldn't just do as your told even once?!" Ravens wing blocks an electrified fist attempting to crush my head. Multiple ranger force members enter the vault but are immediately blown away by intense gusts of wind. Then from below and to my side bolts of lightning race through me. Naga appears and slams into Jormy while a hoard of small kaiju do the same to the doctor. Poison gets injected into both of them through fangs but they fight of their attackers before enough can be administered. But still I'm left with two people who's souls I can see flaring up in preparation for a massive attack. But then a chill enters the vault, a blue mist rolls in along with gold dust in the air. From the shadows walks Louhi, a gentle smile framed by blue and purple hair and beautiful wings. Her white dress still has that same claw mark in its side. Both Benet and I immediately rush to attack her, each delivering a punch that knocks her into the wall. But then I figure it out properly. She did it first. She's just a soul using a puppet to interact with the physical world. Punching her won't do anything because she can just remake the body, you'd need to either destroy the soul or get rid of all the resources.
"Oh come on boss! I've got this!" Jormy petulantly objects. A single raised talon hand gets her quiet.
"Why have you done this Haruo? Are you truly that against our ideals?" She looks genuinely sad. I'd yell at her about all the murder but I literally can't. What with the fungi dragon head. So I'll let phoenix tell her! "Don't be rash!" The roof melts away along with her current body. I hope she will take at least a bit before coming back. Oh and the ground is already forming a new one. Great. Again without thinking I call on the kaiju attacking Benet. They all morph onto my other stump to form a sharp chimera claw. I think their souls went back into the wand but I can't exactly check right now. I pivot on my hooves with surprising ease and head to Jormy next. Her smile only grows wider when she dodges the claw only to narrowly avoid a sword swing from a waiting Raven. The air itself carries her in a casual leap to the now reformed Louhis side. Bullets begging to fly in from the entrance while lasers fall through the roof. We all move to dodge them except for Louhi, who continues to speak even while her jaw is burned away. "Even while they attack you I can see your urge to protect them. You let your own body die in the hopes to stop me. You've turned yourself into a shambling mass of flesh, desperately trying to move a corpse in effect. What kind of life is that? Why do you need to hurt so much for these people?" It's not that I need to hurt, it's that you keep hurting me! But then I realise that Benet has stopped moving, and a gold figure sits on her shoulder.
"She finally let her guard down." Lilith softly says. Her blacks eyes scan the room as she crosses her legs. Her face is filled with shock and horror when she stops at me. "What did you do?" Her voice quivers in rage.
"He thinks he's stopped the ritual. But it's fine, sometimes all you need is to brute force an issue." The winter witch raises her wings and flies into the air with Jormy. "But first we have to remove the chains." I can't scream no no matter how much I want to. Hundreds of prisoners and guards, all accepting of their misery long ago, burn up before they can even acknowledge it when lava erupts from beneath the dark zone faster than thought. Lilith and Benet have already escaped to the sky while I'm too frozen in shock to move. I'm incinerated in the same way all those extinguished souls were. The wand is my only surviving anchor to the physical world. So as I regrow yet another amalgamation of Kaiju parts I can barley see anything through the shimmering air of heat and melting metal. But I can already feel how many Kaiju she's brought in. Million's of Kaiju wade through the ocean, led by all the heroes Louhi has. The purple ocean almost seems to give way as it turns blue to not immediately break them all down. Airborne monsters act like aircraft carriers for even more. I can tell that someone else is watching this but that the least of my concerns. All I want to know is why?! What could possibly make this ok in your eyes?!
