January 1st, 2025 was a date which had been etched into the history of humanity as the most catastrophic disaster ever. That day proved that the technological advancement humans took millions of years to make was not enough. Even though all humans kept aside differences and fought together with high tech missiles and weapons , it wasn't enough. Humans lost, in fact it wasn't even an equal fight. 4 billion humans had died and humans were no longer the apex predators. Lives lost, wealth destroyed, land wiped out, it was clear that there was no hope.
One of the most amazing things about humans is that every once in a while, there comes a change in the way humans live, some people call it advancement, some call it progress while the name doesn't matter what matters is the man who brings this change, "Torch bearer". It was because of a torch bearer that the humans managed to even survive that day. Before January 1st 2025, a weird thing was happening among a few humans. People were suddenly getting some weird dreams, different kinds of visions. Many people went to the doctor, but they said it was just stress, but it was clear that they were no ordinary visions because people started to change. They started to speak differently, they started behaving differently, it was as if they were possessed. But this became more clear after the catastrophe had hit, because during the crises some of the people suddenly started glowing, their pupils had dilated uncontrollably, their emotions ran high and they entered a state of trance which helped them kill monsters. Later scientists started studying them and then a famous theory was born. The visions were the events of their past lives and the past lives were in different places where different laws existed. This was known as the "Flashback Phenomenon" the event where you undergo a vision of your past life gaining new knowledge or power. The people who underwent Flashback Phenomena were called "The Returners or Awakened". Scientists also learned about the source behind the supernatural powers Awakened used. They coined it "Aether".
As I was saying earlier Humans were only able to survive due to the Torch bearer. He was a returner. In fact he had got the most amount of the flashbacks due to this he researched Aether and created a barrier with which he created a safe zone. 7 safe zones were created on 7 continents with the help of barriers. The scientists who researched Aether were known as E-scientists. An international organisation consisting of returners was formed to lead humanity. It was called "The council". Humans were not the only ones changing, in fact nature had changed more. For some reason there was abnormal movement of tectonic plates
which led to formation of new land and continents. Even as the atmosphere grew, a new layer was added to the atmosphere which was highly dense and contained Aether and unknown beings , it was named "The God's Land". Only one image was managed to be captured by a satellite before all of the satellites were lost due to unknown reasons and after seeing the image humans were shocked. Earth grew larger, yes not only visually but physically earth has grown bigger. The world map changed so much that humans barely managed to secure connections between continents. They could no longer fly in planes to find out about unknown locations. They created some safe routes between all continents and called them the silk routes.
The council also created some academies which had awakeners who remembered about Aether as teachers. The goal of academies was to teach humans who underwent flashbacks, how to use Aether. They also wanted more people who can protect and gather information about transformed earth as they couldn't travel in aeroplanes or use satellites and drones got destroyed before they could gain enough information.
As I said earlier, humans change when they see flashbacks. The change depends on the amount of flashbacks and what you were in past life. Basically if you were a different species in past life, you slowly become that species in this life, or you evolve to become a mixture of both. Everyone calls them demi-humans. These demi-humans sometimes due to their urges attack humans which created a lot of discrimination against demi-humans.
Apart from obvious changes, one important event happened on January 8 2027. The council after so many scouting sessions decided to launch an attack on the captured fortress in China. The fortress had many intelligent monsters in it. It was a blood bath, the worst decision the council ever made. The attack team consisted of many of the strongest people of humanity but about 70% of them died, the worst part wasn't even countless casualties. After they won the castle, they found some papers there, the Council managed to translate the papers and they were shocked. It was revealed that the monsters residing in the castle were just a party of scouts. Humans couldn't believe it, just some party of scouts managed to kill some of the strongest people of humanity. There was an uproar in safe zones for the following weeks, many people revolted against the council, saying it's unfit and they need democracy. Many even believed the council was hiding more information about those papers. The state of the safezones was very bad, revolutionaries were everywhere, even some demi-humans created factions to revolt against discrimination, and the council had its hands full due to the loss of so many awakeners. To make matters worse there was a drought which led to "The Great Depression of 2027" . Not enough people to defend against monsters, not enough food, rebels everywhere, some people went crazy and rest lost hope and then the emergence of him came.
A video was released which was recorded on January 1st 2025 which captured a person who was killing countless demons with hands, many people were near him looking at him as he kept on killing. After his massacre he sat on the corpses and a light fell only on him , the surroundings were dark but it looked as if he was the light trying to help everyone. He looked divine, he looked out of the world, no one knew where he went, even the council tried to search for him but failed. Everyone in "The Great Depression of 2027" after seeing the video, after seeing him struggle against an army of demons without fear, without weapons, they gained hope, coincidence or not, as if to solidify the image of the boy. On June 16 when the video was released it rained for the first time in 2027. This led to the creation of a church which worshipped that person. He was believed to be the second coming, 10th avatar, ahura mazda, rudra chakra. They called him the true god of humanity.
After that what happened ?, yes tell what happened next. After that nothing happened.
