As we reached the executive floor, one of the assistants hurried forward, looking frantic. "Mr. President, I'm sorry, I need to inform you that Mr. Theo is waiting for you inside your office."
Before Leon could even react or look back at me, the heavy oak doors swung open. Theo stepped out, looking as polished and arrogant as ever. He had a bright, triumphant smile fixed on his face for Leon, but the moment his gaze shifted and landed on me, his expression curdled into pure disgust.
"Leon, darling, you're back," Theo cooed, before his voice sharpened into a blade. "But tell me, why is this piece of dirt still following you around? I thought we agreed you'd thrown the trash out already. It's making the office smell like a servant's quarters."
