We took the elevator down to the garage in silence, my curiosity peaking with every floor we passed. When we reached his car, he led me to the trunk.
"Close your eyes," he said softly.
I obeyed, the cool night air brushing against my skin as I stepped forward. I heard the trunk click open, and then Leon moved in behind me, his warm hands gently covering my eyes, adding to the surprise.
"Open... now."
He pulled his hands away.
For a moment, my mind went blank.
The trunk wasn't filled with luxury or anything flashy. Instead, it opened into something deliberate, carefully planned in a way that made my chest tighten before I even fully understood why.
Soft white fabric lined the inside, draped neatly like a backdrop. Warm fairy lights were woven through it, glowing softly against the night. At the center sat a collection of small, meaningful items, wrapped boxes, details chosen with intention, not excess.
