Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: The Dragon of Time

A beautiful woman soared through the endless sky, cutting through clouds at unbelievable speed. Her long silver-black hair trailed behind her like a comet, her snow-white skin glowing under the sun, and her sharp golden eyes seemed capable of piercing through all existence. She wore a black and gold robe that rippled in the wind.

(My name is Chloe… the second-born True Dragon. The Dragon of Time and Space. The incarnation of Time and Space itself.)

She flew onward at the speed of sound, her expression cold.

(It's been hundreds of years since big brother Roshan trained that so-called 'Dragon of Nothingness.' And ever since then, he only talks about him. It irritates me more than anything.)

---

Back at the Nova Nation—

All the important soldiers sat silently in the meeting room. Subash sat before them, his ocean-blue eyes flashing briefly.

"So you're saying some high humans betrayed the current High Human leader, Mo Chang, and fled south to live on their own?" Subash asked, voice calm but laced with suspicion. His narrowed gaze settled on Kael'thar.

"Yes, Subash-sama," Kael'thar replied. "My people noticed strange behavior among the High Humans, so I sent scouts. This is what they discovered."

Subash nodded. "For now, leave them alone. Do not interfere with the humans unless they threaten us or the Central World."

But suddenly—his eyes widened in shock. He rose instantly, startling everyone in the room.

Velkan stepped forward. "Subash-sama, what happened?"

Subash's voice turned sharp. "Draven. Velkan. Activate the barrier—not the protective one. The dimensional barrier I set a few months ago."

Draven immediately stood, bowed, and snapped his fingers. He and Velkan disappeared in an instant.

Velmora's voice trembled. "Subash-sama… is something wrong? You only activate the dimensional barrier if—"

"Yes," Subash said grimly. "A level 90 being is heading toward our nation. It will arrive within minutes."

Silence crushed the room. Even the air felt heavy.

Subash continued, "Everyone stay inside the nation and defend it. If anyone breaches the barrier, you are all permitted to use your forbidden skills."

They nodded with unwavering seriousness. Subash gave a faint smile and vanished.

---

With a burst of speed, Subash appeared outside the nation as the dimensional barrier activated. The Forest of Death vanished behind its veil.

He stared toward the incoming energy signature—

—when a thunderous explosion rocked the sky.

A figure emerged from the blast.

Chloe.

Subash's voice was cold. "You—who are you, and why have you come here?"

Chloe eyed him with sharp jealousy and rivalry.

(So this is Subash—the Void Dragon. He's also level 90… and a 9-Star. Hmph. This could be interesting.)

She smirked. "I am Chloe, the True Dragon of Time and Space. Goddess of Time. Ruler of Time."

Subash's mind narrowed. (A True Dragon of Time and Space… meaning she's connected to Roshan. If she rules time, then her power is literally time itself.)

His memory flashed—

Roshan once told him:

"Subash, True Dragons are born from pure concepts. I'm different—I created the race. But any True Dragon you meet is my brother or sister."

The younger Subash groaned under Roshan's crushing weight.

"Yeah, yeah, old man. Now get off me—you're too heavy."

Roshan only laughed.

Back in the present, Subash glared at Chloe.

(You old bastard… you knew your sister would come find me, didn't you?)

He sighed. "Listen, whatever your name is, I don't want to fight today. Leave now. I don't want to cause destruction."

Chloe froze.

Then her golden eyes burned with fury.

"…What did you just say to me?"

Her voice dropped to a freezing whisper. The air around them turned cold enough to crystallize.

To Chloe—who respected strength above all—being dismissed was unforgivable. A direct insult to her pride as a True Dragon.

Before Subash could react—

BOOM!

Chloe vanished and reappeared in front of him, punching him with overwhelming force. Subash blocked just in time, but the impact sent him flying. Blood sprayed from his arm.

(W–What kind of physical strength is that?! That punch felt like the Big Bang hit me full force…)

He halted himself midair, wiped the blood from his mouth, and glared at her.

"I don't know what I did to anger you," he said coldly, "but if you've started this fight, then I won't hold back."

His eyes blazed with power.

For the first time in his life—

Subash prepared to face the strongest opponent he had ever encountered.
