The following morning, Xueyao moved down the steep stairs leading towards her room all dressed and refreshed for the day when she paused at the sight of the Moon Supreme Leader pacing back and forth at the bottom of the stairs.
He appeared nervous and unsure whether to go up the stairs or not.
Xueyao frowned and tilted her head a bit to the side, wondering the cause of his restlessness this time of the day.
''Your Supreme?'' She called and he froze, as if not expecting her to find her first. He turned around to lock eyes with her still waiting at the top, looking confused by his odd behavior. He gave her a quick nervous smile, swallowed and hid both of his hands quickly behind him.
Very…strange.
Xueyao nodded internally before continuing her way down the stairs. Each step she took towards him, the haunting warnings of the Black Dragon followed her and she didn't care when he looked like he had an internal conflict with himself before reaching here.
