Larann stared at the blue screen in front of her. It was a pale opalescent blue that she could see through. Letters filled the screen and her hand reached right through it.
System? She wondered. Like a computer game or something?
She stared at the screen unsure of what to do. There was no keyboard or mouse icon that she could drag across the screen.
"My name is Larann."
"Error, incorrect name. Please check your name and try again." Her eyes widened in disbelief.
"My name is Larann Habre." She tried again.
"Error, incorrect name. One more incorrect answer will cause will trigger an automatic system wipe."
"A system wipe?" Larann was startled. She didn't even know what this thing was but the idea of losing it before she had even tried to use it bothered her.
It was a world building system and to her that meant civilization. She couldn't help but wonder why it didn't show up when she got here.
