The Level 37 achievement comes two days after the school bombing, accumulated experience finally crossing the threshold while I'm coordinating Connor's hospital security.

Bonnie's magical analysis of Shane's Expression trail gives us a lead seventy-two hours after the bombing—a church twenty miles outside Mystic Falls radiating death energy in patterns my Magic Absorption clone recognizes.
"He's performing another sacrifice," Bonnie says grimly. "Building more power."
We storm the location with overwhelming force: Bonnie channeling Bennett ancestors, Damon and Stefan providing vampire combat, all six of my clones deployed tactically.
The church is Gothic and abandoned, perfect for dark rituals. Shane stands at the altar with three hikers bound in Expression circles, their terror palpable.
"Too late, anomaly," Shane announces as we enter. "I've completed the sacrifice. Expression power surges through me now—enough to find Silas without the complete hunter's map."
He releases the death magic in wave that makes my stomach turn. The three hikers collapse simultaneously, their life energy feeding Shane's power like fuel to fire.
Bonnie screams in rage and grief, channeling every Bennett witch who's ever lived. The battle erupts—Expression versus ancestral magic, darkness versus light.
Shane throws telekinetic blasts that shatter pews. My Defensive Shield catches them with golden barriers. Necrotic energy lashes toward Bonnie—my Magic Absorption clone drains it, purple-black form blazing as he consumes death magic.
[MAGIC ABSORPTION MASTERY: 70% → 78%]
Bonnie matches Shane's power through sheer ancestral channeling, creating light constructs that burn away his Expression darkness. It's the most powerful magical combat I've witnessed—two witches wielding fundamental forces in direct confrontation.
My Mind Shield blocks Shane's compulsion waves. Phasing evacuates any remaining civilians. Strength and Sensory coordinate with Damon and Stefan to attack Shane's physical form while the magical battle rages.
But Shane's prepared. He opens blood magic portal—dimensional tear fueled by the fresh deaths—and escapes through it despite being heavily wounded.
"This isn't over, Clone Sovereign!" Shane's voice echoes as the portal closes. "Silas will wake, and your alliance will kneel before true immortality!"
Bonnie collapses as the portal seals, nose bleeding from the exertion of channeling that much power.
I catch her before she hits the ground. "You matched Shane. You're that strong now."
"Grams warned me," Bonnie whispers, exhausted and shaking. "Expression is tempting. Raw power without ancestors' wisdom to guide it. I felt it, Sam. Part of me wanted to use it instead of fighting it."
I hold her shoulders, making sure she meets my eyes. "But you didn't. You chose light magic, chose your ancestors' path. That's what matters."
"For now," Bonnie admits. "But if fighting Shane means accessing that kind of power regularly... I don't know if I can resist forever."
[SHANE: ESCAPED BUT WOUNDED]

The implications are terrifying. Bonnie's strong enough to match Shane, but the temptation of Expression magic might corrupt her if she's forced to use it repeatedly.
And Shane's still out there, wounded but not defeated, building toward something catastrophic.
