"What is a Revenant?" he asked, pacing.
Aria tapped on her holographic display. "Revenants are resurrected humans or beings chosen by the Nexus. The Nexus is an ancient, cross-dimensional network designed to stabilize reality."
Kael laughed bitterly. "You're saying I'm… what? A cosmic zombie?"
"Not exactly," Aria said, ignoring his sarcasm. "You've been changed to anchor the multiverse. But there's a risk: some Revenants become corrupted by the shadow within them."
Kael sank into a chair, rubbing his face. "Great. So I'm dangerous to everyone. Got it."
