Chapter 11 - CHAPTER 9: Lion’s den.

Tulasi's friends, hearing about Abhi's fiery dressing-down of the Dean's relatives, quickly rushed to Abhi's room, worried about Tulasi.

He's typically a grim, humourless individual, but today's public tirade against the assistant doctors was on another level. Now that the entire department has seen the extent of his fury, they're terrified of what will happen to their vulnerable friend.

They paced outside his room. Checking for Tulasi. When they asked, the nurse informed them that Tulasi was inside. They pressed their ears to the wall, listening.

They heard Tulasi's voice, "Sir, please, sir, I won't do". Concerned, all three of them leaned closer.

"Sir, please, sir, I can't do this , sir, please, sir!" Tulasi pleaded.

Then Abhi's deep voice resonated, "No, you have to do it!".

"Sir, please, sir,I came from a respectable family, sir, if I do this, my reputation will be ruined, please, sir!"

"Will you do it, or shall I complain to the Dean?" Abhi threatened.

"Sir, what if someone outside finds out? How can I show my face, sir? Please, sir, no, sir, please, sir, I can't do it, sir!" Tulasi's desperate pleas continued.

Outside, Tulasi's friends' brains froze. "What's happening inside?" they worried. Shashirekha quickly handed her phone to another friend and instructed, "Go, put your phone near the window and record what's happening inside, quickly!".

From the other side, her friend stretched her hand and placed the phone near the window, recording. Outside, the others listened intently at the door and the wall. They heard Tulasi's voice, "Sir, please, sir, I can't do this, sir, it hurts a lot, this is my first time, sir!i never done anything like this in my lif. I am good, obedient girl from my childhood I can't do sir".

Then Abhi's voice, "No, no, continue, continue!".

"What's happening?" they wondered.

"Sir,My legs hurt, I can't walk like this, sir, please, sir!" Tulasi cried.

"If you stop midway, I will get angry. You have to start from the beginning. Do as I say, " Abhi commanded.

"Sir, no, sir, please, sir, enough, sir, please, sir!"

"Will you continue or not?"

"Sir it hurts"

"You never done this"

"No ,sir.Why would I?"

"Ok do it.if you do daily it wont hurt"

"Sir, please, sir, I can't do it, sir!"

"It's almost over, you're almost at the climax".

Outside, Shashirekha and the others were shocked "What is he making their friend do? Is it what they think it is? If they come little before, they would have stopped him and saved Tulasi from this Demon. But now they can't make a scene and destroy Tulasi's reputation.

" but... but... Ahh! Ahh!" Tulas I groaned

Abhi chuckled. "Does this demon know how to laugh!" they wondered. No one ever saw him laugh.

"Sir, please, sir, it hurts a lot, sir, that's enough, sir!" Tulasi pleaded.

"Does it hurt? How did you feel when you scolded me?"

"sir, please, sir, it hurts a lot, sir, I can't walk, sir, please, sir" she moaned in pain

"Be quiet, continue"

"Sir!"

"It's almost the climax"

"But, but what do you know, sir, Do you have any idea how much it hurts?"

" That's enough, continue"

" sir, please, sir!" Tulasi begged in pain.

"Will you ever talk disrespectfully to me again?" Abhi asked.

"No, sir, never, sir!"

"Will you ever try to rebel again?"

"No, sir, absolutely no, sir, I won't. I will do whatever you say, sir!"

"Will you make mistakes in the case sheets again?"

"No, sir, I'll learn all the spellings starting today, sir. Sir, please, sir, sir!"

"Ok GO"

Tulasi finally conceded. The door opened, and Tulasi emerged, limping, walking in a strange, pained way. Her face was flushed, covered in sweat.

Her friend quickly rushed to her, hugged her, and asked, "Are you ok? What happened, Tulasi?" She gently led her to a chair.

"Nothing," Tulasi said sadly , which sounded more like a moan in pain.

A nurse brought her water. Everyone exchanged bewildered glances in fear. Just then, the friend who had gone to record returned.

"What happened, Tulasi? Tell us!"

"Nothing," Tulasi insisted.

"Please, Tulasi, tell us! Nothing will happen to your reputation! We won't tell anyone! Tell us, Tulasi, what happened? What did Dr Abhijit do?"

"Nothing, at all..." Tulasi still wouldn't explain. Sasi noticed Tulasi is in pain, but she doesn't look like what they thought might happen to her.

"Okay, this isn't working," her friends decided, and together they watched the video her friend recorded. They all burst into laughter. Tulasi, her lips in a pout, watched them. "You find this funny? "

"All this time, what you doing inside was... squats?" she asked.

"Oh yes! Don't tell anyone, shh!" she added, covering her friend's mouth. Her friends roared with laughter, holding their stomachs.

Inside his room, Abhi's condition was much the same. He too was holding his stomach, laughing uncontrollably. "There's such a pleasure in making her angry and beg!" he thought.

Tulasi, still in pain, looked at her friends. "I'm in so much pain, and you all find it funny?" she asked sadly. The Head Nurse came over. "Here, put this hot pack on," she said, handing her one.

"Sister, please give me a painkiller tablet too. My legs don't seem like they'll work until I get home," Tulasi requested. The nurse went and brought two painkillers. Her friends continued to look at her and laugh.

"What do you know of my pain? I did almost 200 squats, you know? And he wouldn't even let me stop! Wicked demon!" she cursed, still moaning in pain.

They all burst into laughter again. That day, Tulasi limped home. She couldn't even make it to work the next day, calling in sick. "I can't handle this demon, my God!" she thought, lying on her bed, rubbing her aching legs.

"Oh, it's Saturday today! Tomorrow is Sunday, two consecutive holidays from this demon!" she thought, then happily drifted off to sleep. At 2 PM, her phone rang.

It was Dr Abhi. "Oh no, what is this demon calling for now?" she thought.

"Hello, sir?"

"Why didn't you come?"

"Sir, my health isn't good, sir."

"Oh, really? Now tell me the truth."

"Sir, my legs are aching, sir."

"Oh, and you said your health wasn't good? "

"Aren't legs part of health, sir?"

"Is it ? It would be better if you cut down on this smartness. You didn't come for duty today, so you'll do today's duty tomorrow."

"Sir, tomorrow is Sunday, sir!"

"Do you think I don't know that. Just come tomorrow morning."

"Sir, sir, please, sir, tomorrow is Sunday, sir, please, sir! I want to rest a little, sir, please, sir!"

"What, did you climb Mount Everest? You did a mere 200 squats, and ask for leave? for that? Come to the hospital tomorrow and meet me there!"

"What, sir, will you be there too, sir?"

"Oh, when I call you, will I not come? What do you think?"

"It's okay, sir, you don't come, sir, I'll come alone."

"Do you need to tell me when to come and when not to? Shut up and come tomorrow!" he said, hanging up.

"Sadist demon! He won't even let me rest peacefully on a Sunday!" she cursed, rubbing her legs, and so, she passed the day.
