Chapter 2 - 2

The notorious Black Widow clearly wouldn't take a restaurant owner's threats seriously.

Although Alven was tall, who cared?

Natasha said sternly, her expression serious, "On behalf of S.H.I.E.L.D., I now demand your cooperation.

Alternatively, I will arrest you on charges of illegal possession of weapons, then take over your restaurant to carry out my work."

She spoke with an air of entitlement, leaving Alven no room to refuse.

Alven truly hadn't expected S.H.I.E.L.D. agents to act this way!

To treat an ordinary person so arrogantly! Although Alven certainly wasn't an ordinary person, and illegal possession of weapons was true.

But this was Hell's Kitchen; most people living here had their own self-defense weapons.

These weapons were used to counter dangers that could appear at any time.

Arresting a Hell's Kitchen resident on this charge was something even the police in the Big Apple wouldn't do.

Alven was stunned for a moment; he was somewhat disappointed by Natasha's attitude. It seemed the Avengers weren't all as good-natured as they appeared in the movies!

Not wanting to get entangled any further, Alven looked at Natasha with cold eyes and said in a chilly voice, "I don't know what S.H.I.E.L.D. is, and I don't care!

If you want to accuse me of any crime, please call the police or the FBI.

Oh, and remember to have them bring a search warrant."

After speaking, Alven turned, opened the back door of his restaurant in the alley, and walked in. As he closed the door, he thought for a moment, then turned back and said, "This is Hell's Kitchen. My restaurant welcomes dining guests.

But if anyone enters the second floor where I live, I will exercise a citizen's right to self-defense."

With a "bang," the iron door was slammed shut!

Natasha's expression was a little unsightly. Although this was what she wanted, how long had it been since she was put in her place by an ordinary person?

This Alven first ignored her beauty, then ignored her threats. While these things wouldn't make her feel "defeated," she was certainly curious.

Especially when, through her earpiece, a female voice mocked her, "If you want to mess up your undercover mission, you need to make it more realistic. Coulson is never easy to fool!

This restaurant owner isn't bad; he should be able to grant your wish.

I hear John Gardner is about to take over the investigation of your assault case. You need to hurry!"

Natasha touched the wound on her waist from the previous attack, then muttered a curse and turned to walk out of the alley.

In a bad mood, Natasha, passing by the unconscious thugs, kicked a newly awakened black thug in the head.

The unlucky guy's head hit the nearby trash can with a loud "thud," knocking him out again.

Kicking the thug unconscious, Natasha's mood seemed to improve slightly. As an elite agent, the recent situation was just a minor setback.

Her initial thought was to quickly enter the restaurant, then find an opportunity to contact the target and quickly complete the mission, rather than some kind of undercover observation.

Now, her intelligence seemed to have a problem. Regarding this restaurant owner, besides his name and experience being correct, his personality was completely off.

Natasha herself thought that a Chinese person should be relatively meek, even though Alven lived in Hell's Kitchen, the most chaotic place in the Big Apple, and still managed to run a small restaurant stably.

This indicated he had some ability, but Alven's ability to ignore her threats and retort eloquently was completely beyond her expectations.

However, even if she wanted to quickly end or mess up this mission, the mission process still had to be completed.

Natasha slowly walked out of the alley, turning right towards the front door of Alven's restaurant.

Alven's restaurant was a two-story building on the street, converted from a small building. The first floor was the restaurant, the second floor was where Ye Qing lived, and the basement was a warehouse.

This was the only inheritance Alven's parents left him in this world.

Above the restaurant's wooden front door hung a Chinese sign, "Peace Hotel," and on either side of the door hung two red lanterns with distinct Chinese characteristics.

Beneath the lanterns, two black giant dogs, standing over 120 cm tall at the shoulder, were lying down.

In fact, any experienced person could tell these were two incredibly large wolves, but residents passing by the restaurant entrance were not afraid of them. Several mischievous children would even hug the two giant wolves' necks and play affectionately with them.

Whenever they encountered mischievous children, the two giant wolves would interact with the children in a very human-like way, then pat their bottoms with their front paws to send them back to their parents.

Natasha was very surprised. It was ten o'clock at night, and this was Hell's Kitchen. After midnight, even police patrol cars dared not enter here.

Yet this street looked like an ordinary residential community, with nearby residents occasionally strolling along it.

This was absolutely impossible to see in the other 24 districts of Hell's Kitchen. Normally, after 8 o'clock in Hell's Kitchen, there would be very few pedestrians on the streets.

After dark, the figures standing under the dim streetlights were either drug dealers or pimps; this was a place where even prostitutes were unwilling to solicit customers on the street.

But the street in front of Natasha was completely different from the Hell's Kitchen in her memory. She knew that there must be something wrong with the intelligence given to her.

Natasha hadn't expected that before the mission even began, unexpected situations would occur one after another.

This made her feel very interesting, giving Natasha, who was originally eager to finish this simple mission, a newfound interest, not in the target person, but in the restaurant owner, Alven.

Anyone with an eye could tell that the tranquility of this street must be related to this restaurant called "Peace Hotel."

Almost everyone passing by the restaurant entrance would slow down, and even if they didn't go in, they would greet the two giant wolves at the door. "Hi, Thor, hi, Dom."

As for other guys dressed like gangsters, even if they passed by, they would quickly cross the street on the opposite sidewalk, carefully avoiding the gaze of the two giant wolves.

Natasha, brimming with interest, walked to the restaurant entrance and, mimicking the passersby, greeted the two giant wolves, "Hi, Thor, hi, Dom."

The two giant wolves sniffed the air with their noses. They clearly didn't like the smell on Natasha, and they stood up, letting out low, guttural growls at her, clearly full of hostility.

Although Natasha wasn't exactly afraid of being stared at by the two giant wolves, she was indeed a bit nervous. She hadn't brought any firearms for this mission, only a few small gadgets for self-defense. Whether those things could stop this pair of giant wolves was still questionable.

She didn't know why the giant wolves, who were very friendly to others, were so unfriendly to her.

If the two giant wolves attacked her, she estimated she wouldn't be entirely confident of leaving here unharmed.

"Miss, I advise you to take two steps back. Thor and Dom are not to be trifled with." A young voice sounded from behind Natasha.

Natasha turned around and saw two young men walking together.

One was a curly-haired, smiling chubby young man, and the other was a blind young man holding a white cane.

It was the curly-haired chubby man who spoke. As he talked to Natasha, he enthusiastically approached the two giant wolves and greeted them, "Hi, Thor, hi, Dom." He reached out to pat the giant wolves' heads but was pushed away by their front paws.

After a cold stare at Natasha, the two giant wolves patted the chubby man's thigh with their front paws as a greeting, then turned and returned to their spots on either side of the door, lying down again.

The enthusiastic chubby man turned to Natasha, grinned, and sincerely said, "It's rare to see strangers in Hell's Kitchen this late, especially a beautiful young lady like you. I think you might be in trouble.

My name is Foggy Nelson, a lawyer at 'Nelson & Murdock' Law Office. I look forward to serving you!" After saying that, Foggy pulled out a business card and handed it to Natasha
