Cherreads

Chapter 30 - 30

Ever since Ginny arrived, Alvine had an extra task every day: teaching the child to read and count.

Poor Ginny happily fell into the trap Alvine wove with gentleness.

"Look, Ginny, this word is, Dad."

"Look, Ginny, this word is, Daughter."

"Look, Ginny, these are the numbers, 1, 2… 9."

… … … … … … … … … …

Thank God, Ginny was a smart, eager-to-learn good baby. Alvine's chubby son from his previous life, in first grade, still needed to count on his fingers for addition and subtraction within ten, sometimes even needing to add his father's fingers.

For three days straight, he was in a good mood, even postponing the matter of finding Jin Bing to beg for money to buy a school bus.

That day, the Peace Hotel was open for normal business at noon.

Frank's appointment letter had come through; he was starting today as the Director of Discipline at the community school. JJ went to the school to be a school bus driver and security guard. Only Alvine, Jessica, and Princess Ginny were left in the shop.

Alvine fried steaks, Jessica served food and collected money, and Princess Ginny acted as supervisor.

At 12:30, all 50 steaks were sold out. Alvine held Ginny, who was dressed in a little waitress uniform, and was badmouthing Jessica to her.

"I bet Jessica will give the wrong change again today. That's the price of not learning math well. My little Ginny can't be like that; you have to study math seriously." Alvine whispered softly into Ginny's ear.

Ginny, tickled, nodded happily, "Ginny, smart, won't make mistakes, Jessica is stupid, Nick said so." The little girl was so honest! But don't say it so loudly! Didn't you see Jessica's eyes were about to kill someone?

Just as Alvine, Ginny, and Jessica were laughing and playing, the restaurant door was pushed open. A very annoying voice said, "Wow, such a big dog, I've never seen one before, Happy, ask how much it is? I want to buy it to guard the house, it'll be more useful than you!"

Alvine looked towards the door; Director George and a flashy, curly-haired middle-aged man walked in. Behind them followed a blonde beauty of about 30, with a capable demeanor, but she didn't look too well, as if troubled by something, a little haggard. There was also a tall, stout white man, likely a bodyguard.

The flashy man wore dark brown sunglasses and brazenly surveyed the restaurant. Finally, he followed Director George to the bar and sat down.

Jessica skipped over the flashy man and served a glass of lemonade to Director George and the blonde beauty sitting at the bar. The big bodyguard wore black sunglasses, with his arms crossed in front of him, standing behind the flashy man, seemingly not needing to be served.

The flashy man wasn't angry at Jessica's neglect; instead, he stroked his small mustache and thoughtfully said, "Could it be that I've been lacking exposure lately? This girl actually treats me like this!"

Director George was clearly annoyed by the flashy man as well, and said to Alvine, "Buddy, this is Miss Pepper Potts, a firsthand witness to the vampire incident. She is Mr. Tony Stark's assistant. Mr. Stark is very concerned about Miss Pepper and insisted on coming here together."

Alvine, of course, knew Tony Stark, the beginning of the Marvel movie world, Iron Man! He wondered what he counted as in this world? Especially a world where vampires had appeared, was it still the world from the movies he had watched in his previous life? Alvine had some doubts.

Alvine smiled, "It seems Mr. Stark is very concerned about his beautiful assistant." To be honest, Alvine liked the character of Stark in his previous life, but when this character appeared alive in front of him, Alvine had an urge to punch him in the nose and then set the dogs on him.

Because Mr. Stark's gaze was currently circling Jessica. He was also saying, "Stark Industries invites you to work in the chairman's office, as an assistant to the assistant, with an annual salary of 500,000 US dollars."

Not only was he visually harassing my waitress, but he also wanted to poach her, which was unbearable.

Alvine's expression turned cold. Looking at Pepper, he said playfully, "Hi~ beauty, I'm Alvine. Does your boss usually use assistant positions and a 50-year salary to pick up girls, or does he usually pick up assistants with a 500,000-year salary?"

The somewhat aloof Pepper didn't answer Alvine's slightly rude question, and said with some impatience, "Director George asked me to come over to answer your questions. Please don't waste my time."

Stark clearly heard Alvine's sarcasm, pouted, and said in a very annoying tone, "Pepper, just treat it as a relaxation. There's no such thing as vampires in this world; you're just too tired."

Stark turned to Alvine, "You should tell this, hmm~~ exorcist, what you've imagined. Maybe we can watch an interesting magic show! Just to relax."

Director George covered his face in despair. He felt that bringing Stark along was a very wrong decision; he had a premonition that things would get very bad.

Alvine was amused and annoyed. He glanced at the embarrassed Director George and said, "How did this guy survive until now with such a foul mouth?"

"Because I'm a billionaire, a genius inventor, and the chairman of Stark Industries." Stark looked at his watch and then at Jessica, "We don't have much time, Miss, what have you decided?"

Jessica didn't really want to deal with Stark; she couldn't bring herself to like this guy who practically had "I'm rich" tattooed on his face.

However, seeing Alvine's displeased expression, her mood inexplicably brightened. "This guy still cares about me!"

With a mischievous thought, Jessica pursed her lips, smiled somewhat shyly, and said, "Mr. Stark, thank you for your invitation." As she spoke, she extended her hand and shook Stark's.

Stark smugly glanced at Alvine, then reached out to shake Jessica's hand. Just as he was about to say a witty remark, he realized that the girl's hand in front of him was like a pair of pliers, clamping his right hand and gradually tightening.

Stark, sensing something was wrong, tried hard to maintain the smile on his face, desperately trying to pull his hand away from Jessica's.

If you didn't look at Stark's expression, he now looked like a pervert taking advantage of a girl, holding her hand and refusing to let go.

Apparently, his bodyguard and Miss Pepper thought so too, and Director George didn't want to look at him at all right now.

Alvine watched, amused, as Stark, stubbornly trying to save face, desperately endured the pain, frantically wiggling his right hand to escape Jessica's grip. Until he couldn't bear it anymore, he yelled, "Happy!"

His bodyguard finally reacted, seeing his boss's face covered in sweat from the pain. Just as he was about to reach for Jessica's shoulder, he felt his pant leg being pulled up, then his body went airborne, and he tested the hardness of his face against the floor of Alvine's restaurant.

The sickening crunch indicated that Happy's face had undoubtedly lost badly.

The instigators, Thor and Dom, sat on the ground, one wolf holding one of Happy's pant legs.

No matter how Happy struggled on the ground, with his feet unable to touch the ground to exert force, he looked more like a wriggling fat worm.

Stark saw his bodyguard taken down by two dogs. Wisely, he raised his left hand and said painfully, "OK, OK, I give up, I apologize for my rudeness!"

Alvine gestured for Jessica to release Stark, and said with a smile, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Stark, I used to be a fan of yours."
