Chapter 33: Turles's Discovery

While Turles was still troubled by his self-created ultimate technique, Broly pushed open the laboratory door with Paragus and walked in.

Hearing the commotion, Turles lowered his hands, his face recovering its calm.

"Turles, what did you need me for?"

Paragus remained as impolite as ever toward Turles—perhaps this demonstrated his status wasn't inferior to Turles's.

Turles didn't care about this at all. First smiling at Broly, he then spoke: "Paragus, do you know how to let Saiyans maintain Great Ape transformation's tenfold amplification in normal form?"

"What?" Paragus was first stunned, then immediately objected: "Impossible! That's impossible!"

Paragus knew Turles had recently been researching how to maintain Great Ape transformation's tenfold boost in normal form. But he didn't favor Turles's idea at all.

Paragus himself was an excellent scholar who'd naturally researched Saiyan Great Ape transformation. That's precisely why he understood how difficult maintaining that tenfold amplification in normal form would be.

So after hearing Turles's question, Paragus's first thought was that Turles had finally gone mad. His heart immediately leapt with joy.

But reconsidering, he felt uncertain. After hesitating, he asked again:

"You've figured it out?"

Turles didn't speak, just giving Paragus a smile.

"Tch!"

What Paragus hated most about Turles was how pretentious he could be—especially loving to play the riddler. Every time made him furious.

However, from Turles's face, Paragus confirmed Turles might—probably—possibly—actually have discovered something. This left him both annoyed and excited.

You see, though Great Ape transformation gave Saiyans a tenfold combat power boost, post-transformation size increases also robbed Saiyans of agility. Plus, most Saiyans couldn't maintain rationality after transforming. This made transformed Saiyans into living targets. No wonder Frieza constantly looked down on Saiyans, calling them "filthy monkeys"!

So if Turles truly had researched something, the impact on Saiyans would definitely be enormous.

Paragus momentarily fell into conflict. As a future king determined to revive the Saiyans, he understood the race needed this research. But equally as future king, he didn't want this research casually leaked.

Watching Paragus struggle internally, Turles's brain turned slightly, understanding his thoughts. He couldn't help rolling his eyes. Ignoring him, he just shifted his gaze to Broly.

Turles's eyes held some heat. He felt Broly truly was a treasure trove. Not only did he possess shocking personal potential—definitely capable of reaching Destroyer God-level combat power once grown—but now Turles had also discovered Saiyan secrets from Broly, allowing his own strength to improve further.

Broly felt somewhat creeped out by Turles's gaze, especially with Turles continuously staring at his tail stump. This made chills run through him.

Though Broly had lost rationality at the time, he still sensed Turles had done something to him. That powerless feeling persisting even after regaining consciousness—something he'd never experienced since childhood—now with Turles staring at him like this, he inevitably felt some fear.

Watching Broly continuously avoiding his gaze, Turles felt puzzled. He didn't know why Broly seemed somewhat afraid of him. He was Broly's only friend!

Turles naturally didn't know how much psychological trauma he'd caused Broly.

After thinking, he truly couldn't figure out why Broly would fear him. But he quickly tossed this question aside, once again looking at Broly with a grin.

This time, Turles had indeed discovered something about Saiyans maintaining Great Ape transformation's tenfold amplification in normal form, as Paragus suspected.

His previous thinking had been completely wrong. No—not completely wrong. Most was correct, but the key direction was wrong. He shouldn't have focused solely on Saiyan tails.

Indeed, tails were the source of Saiyan power. Only tails could receive Blutz Wave radiation, triggering bodily cellular mutation. But Turles had previously ignored an important organ—the spine.

The spine was the vital supporting organ for all bipedal creatures. It connected body and tail, also forming an important component of biological activity.

So when Blutz Waves radiated Saiyan tails, the spine also passively absorbed Blutz Waves. Saiyan bodily cellular mutation actually began from the spine.

Previously, all Turles's attention had focused on the tail. Because he'd discovered Great Ape power originated from the tail region. Even his last transformation without Blutz Wave exposure, using only mental stimulation, had been the same.

But after accidentally battling the monster Broly this time, he'd discovered the Saiyan spine also played an indispensable role in transformation.

Just that ordinary Saiyans lacked Broly's special constitution. After tail severing, losing Great Ape power supply, they'd quickly exit Great Ape transformation.

But Broly—due to the legendary Super Saiyan's special nature—could generate Great Ape power from his spine independently after tail severing. Though inferior to tail generation speed, this still let him maintain transformation.

Plus, Turles remembered at the later Tournament of Power, Goku had instructed Sixth Universe's Caulifla to transform into Super Saiyan 2 by concentrating power in her back, stimulating massive S-Cell proliferation, thus transforming Super Saiyan.

This had inspired Turles, letting him find the method to sever Broly's transformation during their battle, bringing Broly back from Great Ape form.

And what Turles conceived—wanting to maintain Great Ape transformation's tenfold amplification in normal form—required cutting off the spine's participation in cellular mutation, only maintaining tail-based Great Ape power's bodily enhancement.

This also gave Turles more speculation about Super Saiyan 4 transformation.

If Super Saiyan transformation involved the spine, Great Ape transformation involved the tail, then Super Saiyan 4 was the combined effect of tail and spine. This might explain why Goku first transformed into Golden Great Ape, then transformed into Super Saiyan 4 under extreme emotional stimulation.

Turles didn't know if this hypothesis was correct. But it didn't prevent him from using this foundation to find methods for normalizing tenfold amplification.

Turles explained his theory to Paragus. After listening, Paragus fell into contemplation.

Though Paragus didn't know Super Saiyan transformation required concentrating energy in the back to proliferate S-Cells, combining his previous research, he vaguely felt Turles's thinking was correct.

And if following Turles's idea—only applying Great Ape power's combat amplification without transforming into Great Ape—then Saiyans might potentially maintain rationality under Great Ape power's tenfold boost. This combat power amplification wouldn't be as simple as just tenfold.

You see, a warrior with only bestial instinct versus one maintaining rationality with rich combat experience were completely different. Under identical battle power, the latter could easily crush the former.

Thinking this, Paragus could no longer restrain himself. Looking at Turles with hopeful eyes, he asked:

"So have you figured out how to cut off the spine's participation, only letting the tail receive Blutz Waves?"

But after hearing that, Turles stopped talking again. He just looked at Paragus with a smile.

"Damn!"

Seeing Turles show that face again, Paragus finally couldn't hold back, directly cursing.

"You... you..." Paragus pointed at Turles, too angry to speak.

Just as Paragus was about to explode and have a major battle with Turles, the laboratory door was pushed open again. Raditz walked in holding a severed tail.

Seeing Raditz return, Turles couldn't care about continuing to tease Paragus. He immediately stepped forward, taking Broly's severed tail from Raditz's hands.

Turles stroked the fluffy tail, couldn't help fondling it in his hands. Not until noticing everyone's strange expressions did Turles cough lightly, covering his lapse.

After handing Broly's tail to nearby Karl, Turles recovered his cold expression, beginning to examine Raditz up and down.

Recently, Raditz had been trained by Turles into psychological trauma. Seeing Turles examine him, he subconsciously stepped backward, then immediately turned around wanting to flee.

But how fast was Turles? Before Raditz could react, Turles had already grabbed his collar.

Seeing escape was impossible, Raditz slowly turned his head, face full of misery: "Turles, can I please not do this?"

Turles showed no expression, directly refusing Raditz's plea. Dragging Raditz, he walked straight out of the laboratory, flying directly toward distant open ground!
