Chapter 49 - Tony Has Joined S.H.I.E.L.D.?

Aaron didn't know Ego was coming, but he had already mentally prepared himself.

When he returned to Osborn Industries, Tony had been waiting for a long time.

Tony looked displeased. "Buddy, you know what? It's always others waiting for me."

Aaron remained indifferent. "Oh really? Not anymore."

Seeing Aaron's calm demeanor, Tony was furious. He had waited for the other party for two whole hours.

He was Tony Stark.

Whether it was the military, other high-ranking officials and politicians, or Corporation bosses, he didn't show them face.

At all banquets, he always made the last entrance.

The protagonist always appears last, right?

In terms of wealth and wisdom, who could surpass him?

However, today he truly witnessed it.

Waiting for someone felt awful, all anticipation gradually wore away during the wait.

"We had an appointment yesterday." Tony was full of grievances.

"Didn't I come?"

Aaron casually handed his suit to Felicia and sat down at the table behind him.

Pepper quickly said, "Mr. Aaron, what we discussed yesterday…"

"Wait a moment."

Aaron flipped his right hand, conjuring a test tube out of thin air, and then injected anti-radiation and some heavy metal detoxification properties into it through the primal furnace.

He pressed a button and said, "Have Curt come over."

Tony and Pepper both looked confused.

Soon, Curt knocked and entered. "Boss, you wanted to see me?"

He glanced at Tony, a little surprised.

Aaron slapped the test tube on the table and said, "Put aside the current experiments for now. Go test this thing's effectiveness, to see if it can solve nuclear radiation and palladium poisoning problems."

Curt's eyes lit up upon hearing this, and he immediately took the test tube to conduct the tests.

Tony reacted. "So this thing was just made?"

Aaron said, "As you can see, I rushed it out after I got back yesterday."

!!!

You bastard, where did you come from, you monster!

Could it really be Krypton?

Tony couldn't control his facial expression this time, utterly astonished.

He originally thought that being imprisoned, spending three months, and using a pile of junk to build the arc reactor and a suit was already impressive.

He didn't expect there to be an even greater master.

He had an idea in the daytime, and went back to develop anti-radiation and anti-heavy metal agents.

He also made a trip to Missouri to handle some business.

Then he returned without stopping.

Tony glanced at his watch, his lips twitching.

Even a time management master would concede defeat.

I, Tony, am willing to acknowledge your genius.

Just a tiny bit less than me.

Tony lost his temper.

Tony said, "Alright, actually, I've pretty much solved the palladium poisoning problem."

"From now on, my palladium poisoning won't worsen. I just need to slowly recuperate, it'll be fixed with a bit more time."

Aaron nodded.

Tony couldn't help but ask, "Aren't you curious how I solved it?"

"Not curious, so do you still want it?"

"Yes. Of course, I do."

Tony nodded, extremely dejected.

Why don't you ask? If you asked, I could show off.

"You know, I'm a genius. I solved the arc reactor's palladium poisoning problem, replacing it with a new element, an unknown element that has never appeared on the periodic table."

"Not only did it increase the arc reactor's capacity by at least a thousand times, but it also saved me from death."

Tony raised his head, hoping to see an expectant look from Aaron.

"That's it?" Aaron was very calm.

Tony was unwilling. "This palm-sized thing in my chest can continuously generate three billion joules of energy per second, for at least 15,000 minutes."

Aaron said, "That's impressive. With a little more effort, your little device could supply the entire New York's electricity for a year."

"…"

I'm so angry!

Why is it that even though it's a compliment, it doesn't make him happy at all, but rather gives a strong sense of defeat?

Tony closed his mouth, no longer asking for trouble.

Curt's test report didn't take long.

Even in the Marvel Universe, where black technology is rampant, Osborn Industries' equipment is considered top-tier.

Soon, Curt excitedly rushed in with the test report. "Boss, the agent you developed is incredibly powerful."

"After injecting it, it can effectively solve nuclear radiation problems and strengthen human resistance to nuclear radiation, preventing genetic mutations."

"At the same time, it also has an extremely strong cleansing effect on heavy metals like palladium poisoning, far exceeding any current method in the world."

"My goodness, this is another world-shaking great invention. Those residents suffering from nuclear radiation will regain new life."

Hearing this, Tony snatched a report with skepticism and started reading it. Although he wasn't specialized in genetics, he had some research in these areas. And by analogy, Tony's achievements in this field actually surpassed many biology experts.

"Damn it, how on earth did you do it?"

If Aaron hadn't produced other groundbreaking products, he would doubt the authenticity of this report.

From now on, he would completely get rid of that terrible chlorophyll juice. In a week at most, his body would recover.

"If it weren't for the fact that not many people are currently threatened by nuclear radiation, this achievement alone would definitely make you the richest person." Tony was quite regretful.

Aaron's answer was simple. "I'm not short on money."

Aaron retorted, "Then why did you close the weapons department?"

Tony opened his mouth but said nothing. His words shifted, with a hint of inquiry, "Do you know that Natalie Rushman has a problem?"

Aaron raised an eyebrow, not answering.

Tony looked as if he had expected it. "Good heavens, you didn't tell me yesterday."

"You didn't ask."

Aaron wasn't some saint, and Tony wasn't anyone to him. If it were a beautiful woman, he might kindly remind her, but you're a grown man.

Get lost, don't bother me.

Tony glanced at Felicia, then at Curt.

"Speak quickly, or get to the point. There are no outsiders here."

Tony's actions didn't escape Aaron's eyes. His heartbeat, micro-expressions, and micro-movements changed in an instant. Clearly, it wasn't good news.

Tony thought for a moment, his face straightening, becoming serious for once. "Aaron, what do you think of this world?"

As soon as he said this, Aaron immediately guessed what Tony wanted to say.

"So you became a consultant for S.H.I.E.L.D.?"

Aaron leaned back in his chair, and Felicia immediately came over to massage his temples.

Feeling the fragrance, Aaron took a greedy, deep breath.

'He enjoys life more than I do.' Tony thought.

He subconsciously glanced at Pepper. Well, he still hadn't hired a new secretary.

"As of now, I suppose?"

Tony, afraid Aaron might misunderstand, said, "I'm not working as an agent, nor am I working for them. I just think Fury made a very good point."

Aaron interrupted his next words, "Such as, saving the world? Becoming a righteous partner?"

Tony was stunned for a moment.

Aaron continued, "For things like that, you guys should go check out a high school."

"Why?"

"Because many adults would rather the world just be destroyed, while those chuunibyou high school students are the ones who spend all day thinking about being the savior."

"Heh heh, it's pretty funny, isn't it?"

Tony awkwardly glanced at Pepper and Curt. However, he received no response.

"Alright, actually, I haven't joined yet."

Tony gave up completely. "Fine, you're right. I should go check out a high school. Like Midtown High School? Or maybe a university, Empire State University is pretty good?"

"Alright, getting back to the point, don't you think this country is quite dangerous and needs someone to protect it?"
