Ana's POV
Ever since I'd relocated to Marcel, Elma and I hadn't stayed in regular contact.
When Elma called me unexpectedly, mentioning she was preparing medicine, my thoughts immediately turned to Morris.
"What type of medicine?" I inquired.
"Your guy reached out asking if I could whip up something for your overall health—plus something for menstrual cramps," Elma said, her voice carrying that familiar teasing tone. "When I asked for your address, he went quiet, so I figured I'd just ring you directly."
I knew it.
Warmth spread through me, and I couldn't suppress the smile that bloomed across my face.
After I shared my address with Elma, we exchanged a few more words before ending the call.
Morris had just bolted out, mentioning he'd return shortly.
Given his rushed exit, I didn't dwell on it.
When the office door swung open again, I assumed Morris was back.
Without lifting my head, I asked, "Where did you rush off to?"
