Morris's POV
I got a call from one of my contacts about Ridley and Aileen having another explosive fight at his place. Apparently, Ridley had finally reached his breaking point with how Aileen was treating Hughes.
From what I heard, Ridley had a sinking feeling that Aileen was gearing up to rant about Ana and the Vernon brothers yet again. His jaw tightened as he chose to ignore her completely.
"I'll get you a place somewhere else. You don't have to stick around here anymore," he stated flatly.
Initially, Ridley believed Aileen genuinely cared for Hughes, and the kid seemed to like her well enough too.
But somewhere along the way, things had soured between them.
The pair—one adult, one child—had become like fire and gasoline whenever they were in the same room.
She'd even begun smacking Hughes right there in front of him.
Ridley shuddered to think what Hughes might have endured from Aileen when nobody was watching.
