Elisabeth's POV
Alana's venomous voice cut through the air as she lashed out at Javier. "This disaster is entirely on you."
His response came as a bitter scoff, barely audible above the chaos. "How exactly is this my doing? Did I slip poison into those glasses?"
But I barely registered their argument. My attention was locked on Nadia, who had bolted from the scene like a frightened deer, racing toward the parking lot after her explosive outburst. Without hesitation, I launched myself after her.
My heels clicked frantically against the concrete as I pursued her through the lot. Terror and determination warred in my chest, creating a cocktail of emotions that made my heart slam against my ribs. Nadia looked beyond rational thought, teetering on the edge of complete breakdown. Fear could drive people to unthinkable actions, and right now, she appeared ready to shatter completely.
