Camilla's POV
The doorbell's persistent chiming echoed through the house, each ring more demanding than the last. I dragged my feet along the wooden floor, muttering complaints under my breath while still caught between sleep and consciousness.
I wondered briefly why Eden remained undisturbed by the racket. The sound was loud enough to rouse the entire block, yet my roommate probably lay in bed wearing those noise-canceling headphones, lost in her ocean sounds playlist. Still, I found it peculiar that anyone could sleep through such an insistent disturbance.
Another long, demanding ring pierced the morning quiet, drawing a heavy sigh from my lips as I rubbed the sleep from my eyes.
When I finally reached the door and pulled it open, I had already arranged my features into an expression of pure annoyance.
