Chapter 86 - Trial of Bonds

The chamber fractured further. Alternate realities now mirrored the deepest fears of each ally. Kael saw Aria Vale trapped inside a pulsating Nexus prism, Veyra contorted into shadowed forms attacking him, and Ryken Holt confronted by phantoms of every mission he had failed.

"Kael… the Architect is testing our trust in each other," Aria Vale shouted, energy flaring. "If we hesitate, the shards collapse!"

Veyra's shadows surged, forming protective loops around the team. "Trust is strength. Use it, or the Convergence consumes you."

Ryken Holt, fists blazing, struck shadow echoes with precision, his mistrust sharpening his instincts. "I don't trust anyone… but I survive because I anticipate the worst," he muttered, eyes scanning for fractures Kael might miss.

Kael extended his mark fully, weaving paradox currents through Aria Vale's resonance, Veyra's shadows, and Ryken's precise strikes. Energy rippled across multiple layers, anchoring fractured realities and stabilizing civilians caught in the chaos.

The Architect's voice thundered:"The penultimate trial measures everything—power, judgment, morality, and loyalty. Can bonds forged through trials endure the apex?"

Kael's chest heaved as he directed every thread of paradox energy. Alternate realities began collapsing faster, but the team moved in perfect synchronization. Every pulse, strike, and shield reinforced another, creating a lattice of stability that held the multiverse together.

In one final surge, the Architect projected a vision where Kael had to choose between saving a collapsing reality or rescuing Aria Vale, Veyra, and Ryken. Pain lanced through him, but he refused to choose.

"No. We survive together," Kael said, mark blazing. "Every ally, every reality—we endure."

The fractured shards shimmered, temporarily stabilizing. The Architect's presence pulsed, as if acknowledging Kael's resolve. "The apex approaches… and soon, the true test of the Convergence will begin."

Kael looked at Aria Vale, Veyra, and Ryken Holt—his allies, his bonds, his anchors. Every thread, every fracture, every lesson led to the final confrontation. And he knew, in the depths of the Nexus, that nothing would prepare them for what awaited.
