Chapter 23- A spider
Albert glanced over his shoulder and saw Hayes talking with Lieutenant Norton.
No rescue coming.
He could only answer flatly, "Thanks, but I graduated college years ago."
His cold tone didn't deter Jameson in the slightest. If anything, it made him even more intrigued.
"I knew it," Jameson said, smiling with an almost theatrical amusement. "You're not his subordinate at all, are you? Saw it the moment I laid eyes on you. Honestly, it surprises me—Commander Hayes, looking all proper and uptight, having a taste like you. But I get it."
He leaned in slightly and inhaled.
"Mm. Exactly the same scent as that day. Like catnip… God, I can't even imagine how wild you must be in bed."
Albert: "…"
For a moment he'd actually forgotten Jameson could smell him.
God, what a creep.
If Albert had any chance of winning in a fistfight, he'd already have put the guy through a wall.
