Saphen's entire body was pushed backward by Vorthax's embrace, the chair legs wobbling. The uncontrollable sensation of hanging in midair made Saphen instinctively startle, and he reflexively wrapped his arms tightly around Vorthax's back.
Vorthax kept nuzzling his head into the hollow of Saphen's neck, cheerful like an oversized puppy.
Saphen gently patted his back and suddenly said, "And the first rule of being human. Don't kill people, Vorthax."
Vorthax paused for a moment when he heard that. Even though Saphen was not facing him, he instinctively lowered his gaze, a trace of guilt rising in his heart.
But he quickly exclaimed, "Of course! I'll be a law-abiding citizen."
Saphen nodded. "Even so, if you're bullied, you should still resist appropriately."
Looking at Vorthax's height of over one meter ninety, Saphen did not feel that anyone would actually dare to bully him.
Vorthax instead obediently rubbed against Saphen. "Saphen can protect me."
