Chapter 18 - The Start of School, Class 5 of the New Students

After all, Huo Yuhao might be under Tang San's watchful eye. He had some grudges with Tang San after traveling back ten thousand years, and if Tang San happened to notice him, who knows what the consequences would be.

For him, having less contact with Huo Yuhao is actually a safer thing to do.

Furthermore, contacting Huo Yuhao doesn't seem to offer him any significant help, so there's no need to force the main character into this situation; let things take their course.

It neither grovels nor is it overly resistant or hostile.

People gradually came in, and the classroom was almost full.

With nothing else to do, Shi Yu estimated the number of students in the class based on the number of classroom seats, finding it to be between 110 and 120.

If the seats are full, there will be 120 people; if that's the total number of people, then there will be 113.

Four more people came in, followed by their homeroom teacher, Shao Wentao.

He looked to be in his forties, with a buzz cut, an average appearance, and a rather honest-looking face.

As the homeroom teacher entered, everyone in the classroom sat up straighter and quieted down, their eyes focused on the teacher, Shao Wentao.

"Hello, students..." Shao Wentao introduced himself with a friendly smile, his tone not stern, making him seem approachable and easy to get along with.

"I'm very happy to be the homeroom teacher of Class 5, the freshmen. I'm an easy-going person, but only if you cooperate with my teaching."

"I often punish students who are naughty, uncooperative, or don't cooperate with teaching."

"What punishment?" someone asked.

"It's just a sting with my martial spirit. The punishment will vary depending on the situation, so I'll be careful not to overdo it. Don't be too afraid," Shao Wentao said with a slightly malicious smile.

"Why does this teacher seem like a smiling tiger?" Shi Yu felt that although the teacher didn't seem strict, he was probably actually quite strict.

This kind of teacher is even more terrifying than the kind who appears to be very strict on the surface.

"Then may I ask, teacher, what is your martial spirit?" Everyone was very curious.

Shao Wentao, nicknamed "Itchy Bee," answered with a smile.

"Itchy Bee?" Most of the students looked blank; they had never heard of this kind of martial spirit.

"It's actually an Itchy Bee!" Those who knew sat up straighter, their gazes towards Shao Wentao now carrying a hint of awe and fear.

Even Dai Huabin was extremely wary; being stung by this ticklish bee could be unbearably itchy.

"Brother, do you know about these Itchy Bees?" Shi Yu couldn't help but ask when he saw the wary look on his deskmate's face.

He'd never heard of this kind of martial spirit before; its abilities were probably related to itching.

Sitting next to him was a chubby classmate dressed expensively, who must have come from a well-off family.

"If you get stung by an itchy bee, you'll experience intense itching for days. Itching can occur all over your body from time to time, and you can't help but scratch."

"It's fine when no one's around; scratching it will relieve the itch. But it's embarrassing if you get itchy in a crowded place, especially if it's in a place where it's inconvenient to scratch. It can be so uncomfortable that you feel like you're going to die," Fatty whispered to Shi Yu, explaining the situation.

This itch could be fatal, but since this is their teacher, she naturally won't actually kill them with the itch, but being tormented is mostly unavoidable.

Shi Yu subconsciously tightened her legs. If she started scratching her itchy lower body, wouldn't that be as embarrassing as picking her toes?

"What a harsh punishment!" Shi Yu sat up straighter, not wanting to be punished like this.

He'd rather be slapped a few times or made to run laps than suffer a few days of itching.

The effects of the itchy bee spread quickly, and soon everyone knew about it. They all sat up straight, looking like good students who would behave obediently.

Shao Wentao was very satisfied with the attitude of these people and began to talk about some simple requirements he had for his students.

There weren't any excessive demands; it was just fairly normal requirement to maintain order in class and to take notes during theory lectures.

They also conduct regular spot checks on everyone's learning progress, with a monthly test on theoretical knowledge and ranking of the results.

The bottom ten people will be punished with a tickling bee sting.

"These are pretty much my requirements. I hope everyone can cooperate and abide by them. If you understand, I won't make things difficult for you."

"Next, I'll talk about my teaching plan for this semester..." Shao Wentao mainly discussed the requirements and plans in the first half of the class.

In the second half of the class, the students were asked to give brief self-introductions. They had to say their names, their martial spirits, and whether or not to mention their soul power was up to each individual.

The first person on the left in the first row stood up to introduce himself, followed by the student next to him. After the first row finished, the process started again with the first person on the left in the second row.

"My name is Dai Huabin, my martial soul is the White Tiger, and I am a level 29 Great Soul Master," Dai Huabin stood up and introduced himself loudly.

Almost all the students in the class were looking at him, mostly with surprise. This person actually had level 29 soul power, so wouldn't it be a long time before he broke through to the Soul Master level?

Among the dozens of people introduced earlier, the one with the highest soul power was only level 25.

Dai Huabin's level 29 soul power was quite special when it was announced, making him the highest among those introduced so far, and possibly the highest in the entire class.

"His martial spirit is the White Tiger. Could this person be from the White Tiger Duke's Mansion of the Star Luo Empire?" the chubby guy next to Shi Yu muttered.

"You seem to know quite a lot, bro," Shi Yu said, glancing at Fatty with surprise.

"My family hired soul masters for me when I was young; some taught me cultivation techniques, and some taught me theoretical knowledge."

"I know about all the powerful martial spirits in the world, and the White Tiger martial spirit is one of them. I also know the family behind the White Tiger martial spirit," the chubby man whispered, a little smug.

Shi Yu gave Fatty a thumbs up, acknowledging his knowledge and judgment.

Dai Huabin enjoyed the attention he received, which gave him a great sense of accomplishment.

"My name is Zhu Lu, my martial soul is the Netherworld Cat, and I am a level 26 Great Soul Master," the girl next to Dai Huabin said as she stood up.

"Netherworld Cat, this person might be from the Zhu family of the Star Luo Empire, right?" Fatty looked surprised.

Shi Yu wasn't surprised; she knew their situation beforehand.

Shao Wentao glanced at Dai Huabin and Zhu Lu several times.

He had been paying attention to the names Dai Huabin and Zhu Lu beforehand, but he didn't know what they looked like.

"My name is Shi Yu, and I come from the Martial Soul Space," Shi Yu introduced himself, without revealing his soul power.

When others talk about their soul power, it's to show off their superiority; when he talks about his soul power, it just sounds ridiculous.

Currently, none of these people have a soul power level lower than level 20, so his level 16 soul power is really not something to brag about.

"So he's Shi Yu." Many people turned their gazes towards him, looking him up and down with considerable interest.

This was unexpected for Shi Yu; was his spatial martial soul really that eye-catching?
