The hallway in the packhouse were more quiet than usual, but even with the silence, my head was a mess and my heart was still racing. Even though Ophelia had publicly told everyone that I wasn't the one who killed the students, I still didn't trust her. She had made it clear from the very first day I saw her that she hated me with everything in her, so why the sudden change? I still couldn't understand it.
And then there was Mason.
The thought of him made me feel some kind of way as warmth spread through me, but I quickly pushed it away. Last night, I had kissed him, and for the first time, I let myself stop overthinking and just did what I wanted, and what felt right. I had to admit, it felt right. I didn't regret doing it, infact I wanted to kiss him again.
