'Hah, I just forgot about that too… always been there. Yeah always, I probably made up that thing of driving in the mountains. Nope, I travel across the sky on a tree!'
Taking it somewhat well, and denying the very thing in front of him. He continues to stare at the vast expanse of the ocean. He goes from smiling to pondering.
Truthfully somewhere in his heart he already understands what is going on. He just can't accept it.
He's no longer on Earth, the clues are right there in front of him. From the "Split" that the spell mentioned to the ocean right in front of him. The question he finds himself asking is whether or not he is in the afterlife. Or somewhere else.
His memories of the event are somewhat hazy, he barely remembers feeling any pain at all. Judging by that, he should be dead. The strange thing is he feels very much alive. He still has a pulse. He still breathes. It's possible that he got transported to some fantasy world like those manhwas.
There is also no way to find out. He needs more information. He can compose theories, sure. Though they don't mean anything if he can't test them. Plus, he is really tired for some reason.
He was unable to sleep at all that night. Every once in a while the island would slowly shift again. Alto was stuck on a very slow treadmill. If he didn't move with it, whether it was the ground or the sea. He doubted that he could survive either fall.
'This is a terrible spawn.' He sarcastically gloats.
He made a few discoveries about the panel. Thinking in video game terms… he called it a system out loud. He also called a few other things beforehand… Anyway this caused the panel to disappear. After saying "system" again. It reappeared again. He also checked out his other stats as well.
Eventually the sun rose. It seemed normal at least. Alto however, was not. He had deep bags under his eye lids. His stomach growled with insatiable fury. He sighed. Then looked around, in the light of day.
Alto, had found quite the dilemma. On one hand, if he somehow managed to climb down the massive tree he may find food, though if the island randomly flipped then he would be in trouble. On the other hand… he had no food.
More importantly water, people can survive for days without food. Even if it doesn't feel good.
Coming to decision he slowly started to make his way down the tree. The wind was pushing him towards the trunk. Reaching anywhere he could. He made his way from one colossal branch to the other. His muscles, especially his forearms. Did not feel good at all.
As one may guess, he can only climb down when the ground is underneath him.
Strategically using the world shifts to his advantage, he would rest as much as he could when the world turned upside down.
Alto looked down, only to find himself halfway to the ground. A look of utter disappointment began to twitch on his face.
'Stupid tree.'
He didn't have enough energy to kick the damned thing. It's been a while since the last shift as well. Falling down on the bark and staring up. At this time of day the sun was right over his head. It seemed as though the sheer size of the massive tree created an illusion that the ground was closer than it truly was.
After a few more hours Alto's muscles felt limp. He was utterly exhausted, barely able to even stand.
"Hah, hupf hupf… got my workout in. hwuf… jokes on you tree!"
He began to point at it from the ground. Then he saw a hole leading into the bottom of the tree. Taking a look inside, he found a domelike shaped cave. Curved into the wood. Not paying it a second thought. Alto quickly collapsed inside it, and got some sleep.
After waking up, Alto explored. To his surprise there seemed to be quite a few caves on the ground. It surely made being on the surface safer. The bad news… was that the world shift wasn't the only thing he had to worry about.
He stumbled across a giant dead worm. It was somewhat bigger than an anaconda. Alto first mistaken it to be a very large snake. Though, its skin was pale and it had no eyes. It did have rows of teeth at what would be considered the head. They were all sticking out around its mouth.
'So a fantasy world. Got it.'
His stomach growled, he refused to eat such a thing.
There was also a shimmering rock nearby the strange creature. It was glowing white, with large spiked things shooting out of it. They were not sharp at all. It was also small enough to fit inside Alto's pocket. Alto grabbed it and carried on.
Walking away from the disgusting sight of the foul creature. The world began to shift once again. Alto quickly retraced his steps to the nearest cave. Hoping inside before things went… sideways.
Something very interesting happened in that cave. It was quite dark. Though there was a strange bright light emanating through a tunnel. Alto, cautiously peeked inside. What he saw nearly caused him to collapse onto the ground.
There were dozens of lights, all coming from strangely built underground wooden homes.
