Chapter 76 - Conqueror's Haki Lv.2, Clearing the Field!

Chapter 76: Conqueror's Haki Lv.2, Clearing the Field!

Crack!

As the pitch-black lightning dissipated, a claw covered in dark golden scales was the first thing to reach out.

The talons on the claw were half a foot long, sinking straight into the ground without the slightest resistance.

Immediately after, a grotesque head drilled out from the fissure.

It was a lion's head adorned with a pair of goat horns. Its eyes were blood-red, and its mouth was filled with saw-toothed fangs.

It had the torso of a crocodile covered in thick scales, and on its back grew a pair of massive eagle wings. The feathers on the wings looked as if they were forged from refined steel, with barbs at the tips.

"Roar!!!!"

The monster threw its head back and howled, the aura radiating from it undeniably that of a Peak Sixth Order beast.

"What... what kind of monster is this?!" A military Awakened cried out in shock, his body trembling uncontrollably.

"How is it?" The Beast Tamer's eyes were full of appreciation. "My Chimera!"

"Chimera?" Chu He's expression became extremely serious. He was the only one on the scene who could hold this thing back.

"That thing is ugly as hell."

"Ugly?!" The Beast Tamer's eyes burned with fanaticism.

"This is called art! Look at its power, its defense, its speed! It is a perfect killing machine!"

The Chimera beast let out a deafening roar, the sound echoing through the entire block.

It flapped its steel wings once, whipping up a violent gale that overturned the surrounding Awakened.

"Retreat!" Chu He flew toward the Chimera, simultaneously thrusting his sword toward the beast's eye.

But when the tip of the sword touched the beast's eyelid, it left only a shallow scratch.

Pain angered the beast. Its tail swept out violently, instantly devastating the surrounding buildings.

"Captain Chu!" Feng Qi exclaimed.

Worse still, the blue-black magic circle on the ground flashed again.

This time, more chimeric monsters crawled out of the formation.

They were all fused from various vicious beasts, numbering in the dozens. Their strength was all at the Fourth Order, with the weakest being Third Order.

Boom!!!!

The Chimera beast's steel wings flapped again. The marble floor in front of the hotel was ripped up in chunks, the shattered stones shooting toward the surrounding Awakened like bullets.

"There are too many of these monsters!"

"We can't hold them! These Fourth Order chimeras are like mad dogs!"

Apart from the few military personnel, the combat power of the temporarily assembled Adept and Expert Awakened was not high.

The chimeras spread out like a black tide, combining the advantages of different beasts.

For a moment, everyone was exhausted from coping with them, and the temporary squad retreated again and again.

That Peak Sixth Order Chimera beast was like a moving fortress.

Chu He's Moon Lion form was strong, and even with the Beast Tamer harassing him from the side, he didn't lose ground in a one-v-two situation.

The Beast Tamer watched his "artwork" slaughter the Awakened, the twisted scar at the corner of his mouth grinning all the way to his ear.

"So what if it's the Silver Fox Squad? So what if you're an Expert? In the face of my art, you are all lambs waiting to be slaughtered!"

His gaze suddenly swept toward Feng Qi, filled with malicious mockery. "By the way, those three students you arranged to stay in the hotel..."

Feng Qi's heart tightened instantly.

"They should be dead by now..."

Before the Beast Tamer could finish his sentence, Long Aotian's simple and honest voice suddenly came from the sky.

"Instructor Feng Qi! We're here to help!"

Feng Qi looked up and saw three figures descending from the sky.

"Ice Age!"

Ling Yue landed gracefully. Her hands had already condensed a pale blue chill, and within a few breaths, the ice spread out in all directions.

Many of the Third Order Awakened beasts were frozen solid, causing the pressure on everyone to drop plummet.

Long Aotian swallowed dozens of guns and stones in one gulp, then extended them from his stomach. Using stones as bullets, he unleashed a barrage of fire at the frozen chimeras.

With their combined efforts, nearly half of the chimeras were eliminated in the blink of an eye.

Chen Yu walked at the rear. His right hand rested on the hilt of Ace at his waist, his Observation Haki already spread to its limit.

Every aura on the battlefield appeared clearly in his mind: the lightning-wrapped Moon Lion aura of Chu He, the suffocating pressure of the Peak Sixth Order Chimera, and the malice mixed with the scent of snakes coming from the Beast Tamer...

"You guys are okay?!" Feng Qi was both surprised and delighted.

The Beast Tamer had sent a Practitioner rank Awakened to assassinate the three of them. Feng Qi had assumed the worst.

She never expected them to make an entrance like this.

"We're fine. Just an ordinary Tier 4 Practitioner, that's all." Chen Yu nodded, as if speaking of something trivial.

"Ordinary? Tier 4? That's all?!" The Beast Tamer's eyes widened like copper bells. "Are you kidding me?"

"You mean... you guys took care of that..." Feng Qi stammered.

She knew the students in the training camp were geniuses, but no previous batch had been this overpowered!

"Now isn't the time to talk about that, Instructor Feng Qi." Chen Yu looked around. "Is this a terrorist attack?"

Feng Qi's face darkened. "Scarlet Carnation. They came for you."

"I see." Chen Yu took a deep breath. "Them again."

Suddenly, the Peak Sixth Order Chimera noticed the commotion over here.

It threw off Chu He's longsword, its blood-red eyes staring dead at the trio of Chen Yu, and opened its mouth filled with jagged fangs.

A black ball of energy condensed in its mouth, distorting the surrounding space.

Chu He's expression changed. "Look out!!"

He wanted to rush over to intercept it, but was whipped away by the Chimera's tail. Feng Qi tried to move but was blocked by the Beast Tamer.

In that split second of delay, the opportunity was missed.

The black energy ball shot out explosively, arriving in front of Chen Yu in an instant.

Creak—

Without warning, an Air Door opened in front of Chen Yu. The energy ball sank directly into the Air Door, vanishing from everyone's sight.

Creak—

With another friction sound, the energy ball appeared in the mid-air above Haibin City.

BOOM!!!

The energy ball detonated abruptly, whipping up a massive shockwave of wind pressure.

Before anyone could figure out what had happened, Chen Yu's gaze became exceptionally sharp.

"It is impolite not to reciprocate."

[Conqueror's Haki Lv 1 → 2]

In this instant, it came naturally.

Hum—!

A pressure far surpassing anything before erupted from Chen Yu. Red and black air currents expanded outward with him as the center, and the air seemed to rumble with invisible thunder.

Fine cracks began to appear on the ground, and the surrounding streetlamps shattered with a crack.

"This is..." Chu He's pupils contracted. He had seen this kind of mental shock before, but that was from a Peak Tier 8 Grandmaster Awakened.

And even that person didn't have this King's aura—this imposing manner that looked down on everything—to the point where it actually affected physical objects.

Not to mention, the one releasing it was a Peak Trainee teenager!

The red-black Conqueror's Haki swept across the field like a tangible flood.

Wherever it passed, the chimeras that were previously slaughtering ferociously instantly froze.

The remaining Third Order chimeras let out a few short whimpers from their throats before their bodies stiffened and toppled straight to the ground, eyes rolled back, completely unconscious.

The Fourth Order chimeras were no exception. As if hit in the head by an invisible heavy hammer, their massive bodies swayed before crashing to the ground with a loud thud.

In just three seconds, every single chimera had fallen.

Everyone's gaze was locked dead onto the young man standing in the center of the battlefield.

...
